Haha I realized that the cheeky bastards are playing an April Foal's prank. They changed all of the Mane 6 to be the ponies from the older gen MLP shows that influenced the new ones. Rainbow Dash was inspired by Firefly, Rarity was inspired by Sparkler(?), Pinkie was inspired by Surprise, Fluttershy was inspired by Pokey, Applejack was really just adjusted from the old gen, and I'm not sure about Twilight because her name hasn't been changed as far as I know.

My theory is that Firefly and Rainbow Dash I went lesbians for each other and SOMEHOW made a baby, which came out as the Rainbow Dash II that we all know and love.

And so the adventure is about to begin.   Ahh . . . A.J might have a bit of a dark past, can R.D get it out of her?

Reading through the comments for this chapter I can't help but feel I maybe upset some of you with Twi rejecting Luna

I initially intended for it to work out between them, at least for a little while, but I thought I'd relate it to one time I asked out someone of my own gender, only to be rejected like that, I am Luna in this chapter, and yes, I am bisexual, I hope you're all okay with that.

I know everyone wanted TwiLuna, and now I feel bad for letting everyone down but I had other ideas from the start.

As I had mentioned before, Luna's rejection was based on my own experiences in life, but I also related her character to myself in this.

In my headcanon Luna is the symbol of loneliness and solitude, her socially reclusive nature and frequent isolation is essentially what I am in real life.

She is a reminder to me that life sometimes isn't fair and you don't always get what you want, or even what you deserve, and I hope the story became more real because of it, rather than saccharine sweet, happy happy ponies for the whole story like my first fic XD

tl;dr

Luna is a lonely pony, I kept her that way, sorrweeee!

Dang, now we need to remove this from the TwiLuna group.

I for one like TwiMac! And CarMac, so if you wanna, y'know, squeeze that in there...

A shame.  I was enjoying this story until this chapter came along.  It might have been a bit less disappointing, but the transition from TwiLuna to TwiMac felt like shifting from fifth gear straight to reverse in more ways than one.
