This is the greatest thing I have ever read in my life.
Twilight hates traveling, Die Herd, livestock...everything about this fic is just epic win.
That was rather entertaining. Twilight turns out to loathe traveling and being livestock. Luna brought Abacus. I was sad that Celestia didn't threaten to send anypony to the moon though. Overall, awesome.

The problem with dragons is that they tend to forget that everything else in the multiverse wasn't put there exclusively for their amusement and/or dining pleasure. Especially when everything in the universe is.
This is simply fantastic. I eagerly look forward to more, especially the hinted-at deeper implications of Celestial Steed status.
Very amusing for the most part, can't shake the fact that, "Surprise you're Spikes brood mare!" is a bit creepy, not to mention pretty terrible of Celestia not to, you know, EVER MENTION! How that part is handled going forward has me very concerned. It's got a lot of positive comedic potential but also the potential to turn me off on the whole story.

I'm really going for the lulz here. The reversal of fortunes card is always a fun one to play. Twilight's regarded, by the dragon, as Spike's eventual hobby - to a dragon, the ponies are pets. To ponies, dragons are pets.
I nearly laughed aloud at several points in this story. I enjoyed the swirling chaos of interplanar travel, and I intend on continuing this wonderful story. I barely dared to breathe once I saw that you were applying Twilight as a pet of Spikes, let alone the implications of Celestia and Luna being possibly the same thing for the Dragon Emperor. To conclude, I enjoy this story, I completely cannot wait for more updates, and Its possible that if you place this out here, and never complete it, I may leap through the internet with the intentions of tying you down, and making you write the rest of it. (The last portion of that is a intense over-exaggeration, not only do I not contain the powers of Freakazoid, I also would not harm someone that writes so well, let alone threaten them in anything other than a purely fictitious manner.)

I think my issue is that everything seems crueler as done by Spike. In "Calling the Shots" Twilight even said she was joking about having him neutered(although one might think she's having second thoughts about that now). She even attempted to make up for the horrible day she put him thru by giving him two of his favorite things: Time at the beach and copious quantities of gems. Spike turns the tables in "Teething Problem" and her payoff is......compromising photos of her. Spike hasn't done anything in these two chapters to alleviate any of Twilight's problems, in fact he generally seems to be taking advantage of the situation. I just don't feel the two sided love coming from Spikes angle. Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed all four stories but to me if you're going to repeatedly have humor at a certain character's expense having a few tender moments interspersed makes for a more light-hearted fiction(which I feel is the general point to this series).
As for the Celestial Steed angle I wonder what perks if any that entails, a silver lining would be being an alicorn transformation and or extremely long life(like the princesses).
This is damn good writing. I've never had any experiences like the ones Twilight's had (I've been frisked, though), but I know that some people are absolutely miserable at airports and in planes these days, so the humor hits home. Twilight's treatment as a beast of burden is pretty funny, too, but...

I agree. Considering Spike and Twilight are like brother and sister in the show, it would be pretty horrible to imply that Spike is eventually going to turn on the pony who raised him and start thinking of or even treating her as his pet.

You should know Spike would never think that. A multi-millenia-old god-emperor dragon, on the other hoof, can easily forget that. Don't transfer the vagaries of an old emperor onto a young hatchling of barely a decade or so of summers.

I actually wrote that update something over a year ago - hell, it might have been 18 months or more. It's been sitting in my documents ever since then and I thought, hey, since K.o.D is referencing it, time I took another look at it.
I may go through, spruce up chapters 1 thru 3, and then write and post chapter 4 to polish it off, and finally finish this bad boy.
I'm really glad there are those who still enjoy it!

Oooh! I'm not usually one to say "it lives!", but it lives! 1 year, 8 months, and 11 days since the last update, impressive. But I never gave up on this one, it's an old favorite of mine. It's survived through several purges of "old stories that look abandoned" in my favorites list.
I would love it if you did a chapter 4. Great to hear that you still like this story too. :)

I must say that I think this is your best comedy story to date. Or at least it's the only one that hits the right notes with me. It's completely absurd, but it knows so and that makes it all the more fun. Or at least that goes for the bits with Twilight and Spike. The Pinkie and Rarity bits are just... Not very fun. Still, that's a very minor part of the whole fic so it's good anyway!
I'm looking forward to what comes next.

I am so glad you updated this! It was funny, awesome, used marvelous turns of phrase, and damn, I loved the Icy Hooves ice cream. And the waffles. And, well everything.

It's fascinating to see what a difference almost two years makes. Luna Eclipsed, Dragon Quest, A Canterlot Wedding, Magical Mystery Cure... none of them had aired when this story came out. And here we are, with a story just as fantastic as I remembered it. Eagerly looking forward to more, though I hope for a faster update this time.

yup, this story lives - you can see in it how I expected Twilight to ascend to princess-status at some point. This latest chapter was actually last touched in october, 2011, and it's really interesting for me to see how it meshes with my current head-canon, as it really does have a similar feel to ambassador's son and king of diamonds, despite the difference in tone (straight comedy, versus high fantasy adventure).
Chapter four will be along soon...
& here I thought this story was dead! Shows what I know! The tap horn on Twilight was very funny, though I'm starting to worry that Rarity might be going just a scooch mad with power.

Reading this continued story reminded me of Luna and her crazy abacus adventures in the progress series, as well as many other of my fist pony fic reads such as Midnight Shadow`s conversion bureau story /)^3^(\.
