I'll see what I can do!

3490436
Thanks broheim! :ajsmug:

3490526 Why though? And why must I read them?! Its f'ing Apples! I know there is going to be a mention of the lost parents and I still read it! Still it was good.

3490535
If it makes you feel any better I'm not entirely sure what made me decide to write it either, :twilightoops:

3490649 Nah, I'm just a big softie it seems.

All I can say is it didn't suck, and I am not crying. I have something in my eye. :facehoof:

This was great. This is drama, not melodrama. We need that.

3492033
I know that feel, bro, :fluttershysad:

3492202
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it!

Wow! I love stories from Mac's perspective, and you did such a good job. :yay:

3493099
Thanks! Mac is such a blank slate that I was worried about not portraying him in a way that jived with both canon and fanon, but I'm glad you liked it!

love it :raritystarry::twilightsmile::yay::trollestia::pinkiehappy::pinkiesmile: even though It was a bit sad .:fluttercry:
still love it :raritystarry::twilightsmile::yay::trollestia::pinkiehappy::pinkiesmile:

Wow, that's a lot of smilies! I'm glad you liked it,

Very nice, I thought it was a good read.

This sets a model all the 'contemplative' Slice of Life fics should follow. A stilled glimpse at... well... life.

3494591
Thanks; always good to hear! :pinkiehappy:

3494638
I dunno about setting a model, but I'm glad you liked it! :scootangel:

Thoughtful and sad, with just the right amount of angst (which is hard to get right). Very well done. I wouldn't exactly call it dramatic, since there's not much tension, but this is an excellent slice-of-life story with a nicely-done look into Big Mac's mind. Great work.

Thank you very much,

Stidies show that i am indeed batman

3502336
Cool! But what's a 'stidie'? :trollestia:

3502873 its a big ball of wiblly wobbly timey wimey stuff .

Great fic by the way. Made me happy and sad.4 out if 5.
It could have been more detailed on his parents death.

Why does this story only have 48 likes? That question will remain a mystery to me.

Okay, first off, I love the descriptions you put into this. The descriptions are very well done and I get a sense of the world building around me. The way you describe the house, Big Mac's thought process and his internal struggle. Loved it.

The story is pretty basic, but not in a bad way. The story is a very strong, emotional story. You get to see a lot of what Big Mac is thinking and I love that. You get to see that, for being a pony of very few words, he is a deep, sympathetic character. Being an older sibling myself and watching your younger siblings grow up and fend for themselves when once upon a time, they looked up to you and you were their hero. That's hard and I really sympathize with Mac.

The bit with Applejack at the end was great and I love that Big Mac doesn't even say anything. He just keeps his silence and lets his actions speak for themselves. A lot of people forget that you can convey emotion without the need for dialogue and I love that he just kept his composure, but was still reassuring.

In the end nothing is really solved, but I think it's accepting that even though the future does look bleak or uncertain, sometimes you just have to live in the moment and appreciate the time you have now. Because sometimes, you don't know if you even have that.

All in all, a great story. Completely underrated and I hope this story gets more recognition. I hope to see more of your work in the future. Until then, take care. :pinkiehappy:

Wow, this might be the best comment I've ever gotten; thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it, :pinkiehappy:

I've been a little preoccupied lately but I'm hoping to get back into the writing swing after this week, so maybe I'll have something new for you to read soon!

3649775 Sweet. I look forward to it. :pinkiehappy:

I wish I had seen this weeks ago. It's a very nice little piece.

I took the liberty of adding it to a few more groups. Hopefully it'll bring in a handful of new readers.

Oh, cool! Thanks dude!

Glad you enjoyed it!

I've read a couple of stories that revolve around Big Mac but nothing like this before. You really captured Big Mac's character well. I felt the descriptions of his thought process fit him perfectly. He's a stallion of few words and speaks more with actions. This is why I really enjoyed this story. As a reader, I knew what he was thinking based of the descriptions but adding actions like wiping his eyes to expressions to hugging AJ helped me understand his character a little bit better, not to mention it added to his emotional thinking.

Also, having Applejack understand what all those actions meant without having to have Big Mac speak to her spoke volumes of their relationship as a brother and sister and as a family. It definitely added to the fact that AJ thinks highly of him as he does of her. But for Big Mac not to have to say anything and simply give her a hug and for AJ to just...understand everything he was saying without having to hear it, well, it made this story very special.

I'm sorry if I sound confusing or if I repeated certain things. It's late and I'm really sleepy but I wanted to leave a review because this story was wonderfully written! Good job!

Thanks so much for your review! I love hearing what people think; doubly so when it's something good! :raritywink:

You seem like a big Apple family fan too, so knowing you enjoyed the story so much was that much more meaningful,

Deep Mac is leagues above comical Mac.
5/5

Thanks for the good rating!
I'd like to think that Mac can be both; everypony has to laugh sometime, right?

3910337
True enough.
You can be deep with a side of funny, but funny with a few deep tidal-pools doesn't work as well in my experience.

3981020
I do; thank ya kindly! :ajsmug:

Loved this fic. I think you really captured the dynamics of the Apple family perfectly. Keep up the good work!

Oh, wow! :pinkiegasp:
Thank you very much; I'm glad you enjoyed it!

You're very welcome :raritywink:

That was fantastic!

That was the last thing his parents had ever asked him to do: take care his sisters.

*take care of his sisters.

Other than that, there are no flaws in this story. Absolutely beautiful, and a great look at Big Macintosh. I've always thought he was highly intelligent and sensitive—just not one with words, or many o' 'em. Actions speak louder, after all.

Have a fave! :ajsmug:

D'oh! Sixty-five weeks later and still finding errors, :raritydespair:
Thanks for pointing that out, and thank you very much for the fave; I'm glad you enjoyed it!
