Not a bad start, albeit a little ruff, but I'm no one to talk.
Anyway, I like it overall, but have you considered breaking up the dialogue from each other. It just difficult to tell who is talking when it is all mashed together, one after the other.
Either way, I can't wait for the next installment, and I really like the name "Octavian."
