I really liked this story
All Spikes' lines were written really well (Probably one of the best I've read), and I couldn't help myself from hearing his voice in my head when I read them 
This is a very good one-shot.
My mind went somewhere dark with the ending of this, haha. Instead of a surprise party, I thought she would come out of her castle realizing she was away longer than she thought and everypony was dead.
