Meet Paige Turner, a fan of "My Little Pony," an obscure 300-year-old series of books written for little foals. She thought it was all a bunch of childish but entertaining stories set in a fictional Equestria, but when she takes a job in Ponyville, it becomes more and more obvious these books aren't fiction, but... prophecy.
Unfortunately for Paige, she's seeing the mane 5 BEFORE Twilight Sparkle ever set hoof in town, and it's becoming increasingly obvious that THESE ponies haven't learned a single thing about friendship ...

Okay, so I understand why Pinkie was different and the lecture worked on her because Paige was deciding her future in the town.
But Applejack is afraid of telling the truth because she'll get it wrong?
And she's might be right about their apples but why the rest of the lies?
Plus you know, taste varies and Applejack is a little biased in talking about her apples as the best.
My major thoughts are this: Applejack lying doesn't make much sense and why would she listen to a random pony who just walked onto her farm?
Oh yeah, some grammar and word choice:
I'd recommend against using this, maybe use "them".
