Great story! I really enjoy it when Fluttershy shows her strength.
Strength comes in many forms. And all of them are valid.
This was a pretty nice little character piece that not only shows Fluttershy's inner strength, but also showcases Rainbow Dash's loyalty. Not once was Dashie concerned about her own well-being. She was worried about her best friend doing something reckless (and no, the irony is not lost on me
). Perhaps the drive to perform your special talent is something she already knew, but because she didn't want Flutters to get hurt, that took precedence over all else.
Of course, Fluttershy's drive is worth mentioning as well. It's something that's often overlooked about such a shy, introverted character who's afraid of her own shadow. But, perhaps she's stronger than she appears. If Dashie didn't know that before, she certainly knows that now.
What else can I say? This was masterfully done.

Wow. This was so sweet.
I guess I am in a weird mood right now, probably because the weekend was so gray and rainy, or because I listened to Come Home Soon by Joaftheloaf while reading this, but this beautiful and heartwarming piece seriously made me cry. Maybe, though, it's just that I really envy Dash and Fluttershy for their deep bond. I really want a friend who would be like that for me.
Anyway, thank you for this beautiful story.
