Nice cliffhanger. At the same time, you could end the story here. You've introduced characters, developed conflict, and (in most cases) resolved it. The only conflict I still see unresolved is between Twilight and the newcomer.

Speaking of the newcomer, I love his devil-may-care demeanor. A talent like his seems very versatile, but it also requires (in my mind) a great deal of planning. Good work so far.
