Loves to read and write, I decided to try writing fanfiction after a long hiatus thanks to ponies

It's tough being a big brother having to babysit your little sister. When you have to babysit her while waiting for your girlfriend to come so you can confess your love to her...its even tougher. Let's watch as Shining Armor, professional big brother and monster slayer, has to deal with a Twilight Sparkle and her runaway imagination. Lets watch as he has to protect her from the monsters that live in her dreams and hide in closet; all the while trying to set up the perfect sate with his lady-Cadence.

Easy, after all...there are no monsters in your closet, right?

Big thanks to Elric of Melinpony for the editing and revising

That was very cute.

I love the idea that Shining plays D&D.
So in the flashy forward story comparison of hilarious irony, that makes Twilight the mage, Fluttershy the druid, Pinkie the bard, Rarity the rogue, Dash the barbarian, and Applejack the knight? Spike is obviously the faithful companion.
Edit: Changed to say Fluttershy is the druid as was intended. Hehe, stupid typing.

Monsty the Monster is best monster:rainbowlaugh:

I say the classes should be:
Twilight, mage
Rainbow Dash, rogue/ranger
Applejack, barbarian
Rarity, bard
Fluttershy, cleric
Spike, knight
And Pinkie is a class of her own

Let me guess? Monsty is Spike.

3306601
But but Fluttershy and animals? How can that not be a druid?
I can see Rarity as the bard though, she is certainly dramatic enough.
Pinkie is a far realms abomination that has grown attached to mortals and sugar.(Now I want to see what happens if I feed sugar to something from the far realms in a game.)

3306681
She would be a cleric for a nature god (anyways Zecora's the druid)

3306811
I've always pictured Zecora as a shaman.

3305482

I was going for cuteness and I am glad to succeed

3305610>>3306601>>3306681>>3306811

Actually, the way I wrote it and what was going in my head was

Twilight: mage

Knight: Rainbow

Druid: Fluttershy (Zecora would be a shaman)

Rouge: Rarity

Bard: Pinkie Pie

Barbarian: Applejack

and yes the faithful companion was Spike of course

3306172

Yes, he is.

Actually, Monsty is just one of those monsters that one finds in their closet. You know, the ones that wait to scare you as a kid or to take your clothes away when you least expect it. This was set before Spikey was born. (little known fact, monsty is the nickname of my pet monster from the my pet monster series)

So close! Rainbow and AJ where the two I was least sure of though.

Upon reflection. Rainbow=Loyalty=Knight. Gah I feel silly now.:facehoof:

Twilight, why didn't you try to ask it what it wanted in the first place?

Eureka's Castle? Well that takes me back down memory lane...

It's a cute story, but... if I may... I'd like to offer my services as an editor. :twilightsheepish: The errors I saw (mostly punctuation) were pretty minor, but there were enough that I kept getting pulled out of the story. If you're interested, I'd like to help you polish this.

It seems that the only thing that we agree on is that Twilight is a mage

3307882

She was too scared to think about it.

Sure let me send you a PM

Hello! I'm here from the Good Grammar Directory to appraise this submission. I'm happy to say that after a brief examination of the story I believe it is qualified for the group's folders. I do, however, have one minor error to point out:

 “Shining, thank goodness,”

I noticed various moments, this one in particular, where you closed a quotation with a comma. If the quotation is a complete sentence, it should be closed with a period.

I think there was also at least one instance of the word "the" being used where "then" should be, but I can' remember exactly where. Other than that, this fic is more than qualified to be featured in the group.

He had big red scary eyes, horrible black teeth, and a very long snoot like a Snuffleupagus,” she finished saying, looking over to the curtain as she shuddered a little with fear.

Am I the only one who saw this?

Believe it or not, I think you are, I have yet to see anyone comment on Snuffy yet.

Thank you, I try to make people cry out with dawwww once in a while

Adorable! I can identify with Shining. Good thing he didn't kill her, or he'd have wound up married to Chrysalis! :fluttershysad:

Ah Eureka's Castle, Henson was so much fun

3348307

Look, I apologize for all the times I kept you up at night...but some of those monsters did scare me :pinkiesad2:

3360716

Oh yes, and I loved every moment

First off: Da fuq?

Second: This story has been approved for the Sibling Story Stockpile.

I remember that episode of Eureka's Castle your awesomeness just jumped up by a currently unimaginably number.

Let's just say I know the pain Shining felt at wanting to murder the younger sibling quite a few times. :pinkiecrazy::pinkiecrazy:

Now I want to see how he would deal with being a dad.:pinkiehappy:

Awwwww!
And heh, I remember Eureka's Castle. Very vaguely, though. Mostly of some guy only getting UNDERWEAR! for Christmas.

eureka's.....castle? *squeals with nostalgia*

3790635 Oh, being a dad is way more stressful than being a big brother. Yeah, hopefully you have a loving wife to help you, but even being married to the foalsitter of your younger sister does not automatically prepare you for the challenges that come with parenthood.

Reminds me of the book There's A Nightmare in My Closet, where not only is the nightmare actually real, but it has feelings and ends up sleeping in bed with the kid who basically shot him with a pop gun. And then, in a real twist ending, it turns out there's another nightmare in the closet. :twistnerd:

The monster was real?! :pinkiegasp: Good thing he was friendly though, and only wanted to hear a bedtime story. :pinkiehappy:
