Cheesypower

E

The Chrono-Spell project was a success. Clover the Clever sent Star Swirl the Bearded back in time, where he erased the Windigoes from existence before they could descend upon the three tribes.
Without a common foe to unite them, the three tribes remain separate, continuing to grow and expand in an era of prosperity. However, the conflicts between the three tribes remain and continue to fester until they reach a boiling point.

Finally, the turning point is reached and crossed. Three tribes that could once have been united...
Now prepare to go to war.

Well this decision will have no negative consequences whatsoever. :facehoof:

You'd think someone as wise as Star Swirl would realize that messing with time is a HUGE mistake.

On the other hand, the Windigoes were a catastrophe of epic proportions that drove them from their homelands. Throw in the fact that unification of the three tribes would be a long, arduous process (Princess Platinum was a representative of the King, who was the real head honcho, not to mention other aristocrats and generals who might not take kindly to unification), and well...
If it looked like unification might not work, wouldn't you want to at least try to reclaim your homeland?

That's part of why I liked the first Red Alert. The question "If you could remove Hitler from history, would that be a good thing?" is a legitimately compelling quandary.

And it resulted in;

A. A Second World War far more deadly than the original (Something like 110,000,000 dead vs 42-72 million).
B. Another war after that, in which the US is almost wiped off the map and Einstein experiments with "God's toys."
C. Soviet scientists go back in time and erase Einstein, with the consequences being a massive struggle between not two, but THREE major world superpowers.

Changing history is bad, and SHOULD be bad.

WE know that, but how could HE? We are privy to knowledge that he is not. If you had the chance to avert a disaster, wouldn't you? How could you know that by diverting one disaster you'd caused another?

And note his reaction upon returning. He'd just seen proof the the windigoes, contrary to the commonly held belief, had NOT been the cause of the infighting between the tribes, just the spark that lit the fuse. That whole scene at the end of the chapter is Star Swirl realizing that conflict is inevitable, and all they've accomplished is removing the common enemy that forced them to unite.

Well, then, sounds like things are going to get... interesting.

What is this a crossover of?

Have you ever considered submitting this story to Equestria Daily? You can find out how to do so here.

...Those guys turned down RealityCheck's stories over "grammar issues." if they can't recognize talent like his, then I want nothing to do with them.

3292558

Well, it's a crossover in the sense that it's an alternate take on pony history that mirrors the world of the video game Command and Conquer: Red Alert.

3292627 Who or what is "RealityCheck"?

3292671

Realitycheck is the author of Nightmare Night and Nyx, The Great Alicorn Hunt, Cheerilee's Class, Fanfic is Crapsack... the list goes on. Oh, and he's also a freelance online cartoonist who's work can be seen here. He has put far more effort into his work, and is a far better author than I.

Ah yes, Yuri's Revenge. I didn't play the first two games, but from watching them on Youtube, I got the hang of the story pretty quick.

she's not going to be fanservice, porn-actor Tanya.

And I was just about to hit the like and the fave button... :trixieshiftright:

Nah, but seriously... Y U SO COCKBLOCK!? :raritydespair:

This seems a well conceived crossover at the first glance.

You have my attention.

Nice Chapter. War seems to be on the way. Not sure if rooting for one side or the other is appropriate, but I'm definitely not rooting for the unicorns, not with a tyrant and murderer on the throne. Not so much for the pegasi, either, with all their arrogance.

3333127
'Cuz badass Tanya is sexier. :rainbowwild:

Besides, have you heard the difference between their voice actors?

RA3 Tanya: "cha, ching. I'm part barracuda." (hold your nose while you say this to get the full valley-girl effect)
RA1 Tanya: "Chu-CHANG! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Which one sounds like they're about to tear your big expensive base a new one?

(I'm not kidding. Go to Youtube, find the voice clips for both Tanyas, and compare them. You'll see.)

3389293

How 'bout RA 2 Tanya? She was pretty cool.

I'm not reading the story but...
GO UNICORNS!

3395621
...The leader of the Unicorns is based off of Joseph Stalin.

3395789
Kill the non unicorns then revolution:pinkiecrazy: (if only it was so simple)

3395833
heh, good luck with that...
btw, is there a particular reason you're not going to actually read the story? I like to think I'm doing a decent job world-building so far.

3395874 I only have time to read stories that are relevant to my interest. And I don't care for any of the char in this fic

3395882
I can respect that. Haven't even had any canon characters make an appearance yet, other than mentions of the characters from "Hearth's Warming Eve." Still, thanks for commenting!

This is a nice story you have here. I'll be waiting to see it actually kick into gear so we can see how the wars are going with eagerness.

This looks really promising. Each of the three factions has their own character and well written.

The Unicorns are character-wise based off the soviets, but their military is more reminiscent of the Allies, with their research-heavy design. Pegasi are militarily based off a mix of soviet and Empire armies; lots of fast, cheap units that compliment each other well. They are also the faction with the most actual military experience, hence their "brilliance" at strategy. Earth Pony Republic has it's characters based off the allies, but their military is based off the soviets: lots of cheap, weak units with a few devastating powerhouses mixed in. They have essentially been controlled by the pegasi and unicorns for centuries, and are finally breaking off because they're sick of it; as such, they are lacking in the military and research experience. The hippogriff general is technically a foreign mercenary sympathetic to their cause, which shows just how desperate they are right now.
