I feel sorry for Diamond Tiara and thats saying something. I have a feeling its going to take a lot of time for her to let go. Hopefully, she'll find somepony.
I am far from a Diamond Tiara admirer. That being said I really would like to recommend that you add another chapter to this story. My reasoning is that at the end you have a foal who is starting down a rather slippery slope of fantasy. For a real contrast why not make her colt friend a Thestral ?
For the record the story excellent as written, however the way things are today I prefer happy endings. Will up vote.
I feel awful for Diamond. To reach such a stepping stone when it comes to relating to other ponies only to be rewarded with such heartache.
aside from that, it is always nice to have a break from all the death that happens in equestria. Keep it up.
So, I guess Diamond didn't really learn anything. If she did, she wouldn't have had that tantrum at the end. Not saying I don't feel bad for her, though I do find her presnt state of mind nothing short of disturbing.

I would not be surprised if what has been speculated with Diamond Tiara is actually canon. This is disturbingly palpable and plausible. Tiara acts the way she is as a B-I-T-C-H in public, but deep down, she appears to be a very lonely and heartbroken filly. Classic projection case. And bonus points for the potential that Diamond is suffering because of a divorce--better than her mother dying when she was a filly.
Interesting that the reason for her Tiara is not because of a tiara, but has to do w/jewelry. A refreshing option in contrast to thinking that she has been in pageants her entire young life.

i guess, like so many other readers have commented already, i feel sad for diamond. going through something like that at a young age is never something that one can go through unscathed, yet the way you wrote for her reaction to all of it actually seems plausible, if not possibly cannon.
though, i also have to say that i'm worried for tailspin now with diamond in that state of mind at the end.
i'm looking forward to what you could do with this.
What is with you lately and having creepy fillies in your stories. First was the unknown red filly who went from creepy to just disturbing and now Tiara is a bit off. Though I did enjoy the story and background you've given Tiara.
