Nope it is advice from Jay and Silent Bob, I think it's from Jay and Silent Bob Strike backs. I at least think it is. I can't honestly remember where I heard it from but since then it has been stuck in my head.
The song title sounds familiar I will listen to it on YouTube and see if I might have heard it from that.
Edit: Heard the song just now, man did I laugh hard. I still don't remember where I heard that line from I could have sworn it was from a Jay and Silent Bob movie.
(Re)Edit: Apparently it might be from the movie Waiting where I heard it from, still can't confirm and I doubt it will impact the story at this point so my search ends.
Great job with this amazing story I had some good laughs and my Face hurts from facepalming too much, because of the stupidity that was going on in the story, of course I mean stupidity in a good way.
Oh before I forget you may want to watch out for a certain pink pony, she's not very happy that she didn't appear in the story.
