Yay, a new story from Vanner! :pinkiehappy:

A good story, few mistakes here and there, but who am i to judge? i'm sure my story has a whole lot more.:derpytongue2:

245323

It's not really new. I wrote it for the three hour /fic/ challenge we had back in December.

245725

Oh, this is your entry from the pre-writeoff that Samurai organized from back in November eh? It was for deciding the top five writers for the Ponychan vs /co write-off. :rainbowkiss:

But...there wasn't any tree sap...I am disappointed. :trollestia:

246451 Here ye be, laddie.

Applebloom's eyes were wide as she continued to hyperventilate. "Scoots! Slow it down! We're gonna crash if you keep this up!"

"Don't worry, Bloom! I got this!" The young orange filly threw another log into the locomotive's hatch, covering it in coal. The train started going even faster, careening down the track through the Everfree Forest.

"Emmett! Emmett!" Somepony was still on the train! A young mare wearing a bonnet poked her head into the train's Engine, her smile becoming a frown. "You're not Emmett!"

Sweetie Belle looked up sweetly. "Nope. Sorry, but your Doctor is on another train!"

The mare huffed and climbed back towards the caboose, unlatched it, and fell away in the distance.

Without the added weight, the train quickly built up speed. "We're going too fast, Scoots! Slow down!"

"Not until we break the sound barrier! I wanna do a Sonic Trainboom!"

The other two Crusaders looked at her with horror. "WHAT?!"

The train jumped the track, falling into the forest below.

The three fillies, stuck in free fall, stared at each other.

"Y'know that this is all your fault, right?"

Scoots just grinned innocently.

---

"A'ight. Well, we're lucky to be alive, tha's fer sure."

"I can't believe that we defeated an Ursa Major! Who knew that you'd hafta drop a train on it's head?"

"Well, I for one am most angry at the condition of my mane! We were driving a train, and we still got covered in tree sap!"

There you go, mate. :yay::trollestia:

Wow, this story particularly struck me. I've always been a big rail fan. This is great. You explained the feeling geniunely well. The feeling of riding on a steamer is exhilerating beyond belief. The feel of every break in the track under your feet, the unique sound of a blastpipe. The overall feeling is one that can be simply explained as "really cool."

You refer to Rails as a pony a couple of times, is that intentional?

503094 Yeah I was wondering at that too:twilightsheepish: Especially since a female mule isn't called a mare, she's a hinny or a molly and sometimes a jenny though that's more for donkeys. :twistnerd:

A very cute fic and the crusaders are captured beautifully.
