I like this portrayal of Slade. It is so true to character and yet feels like a new breathe of air to him.

Feels a little strange to see the Titans' dialogue grow up a little bit (though Robin's Precision F-Strike was amazing), but I can get used to it.
Reading it in as good an impression of these guys as I can do makes this really enjoyable and feels like you nailed each character, especially Slade himself.
Sweet mother of mercy this was awesome!!! I love it, every single Titan was in-character as well as Slade to the nth degree. I eagerly await more.
I love Slade's little commentary on the balance between good and evil. I don't buy into it for one second (that good needs evil to balance it) but it can make for a great way a villain justifies his actions. I wonder if later on if Slade asks Robin again what he'd do if Slade were gone, Robin could say something like, "honestly I don't know. But whatever I did end up doing, it'd be much more preferable to letting you live a second longer!"

You do bring up a good point. Without Slade, Robin seems to be without purpose. It was shown several times in the show that he can't let go of Slade and that they do compliment one another. Just look at what they accomplished working together though, they saved the world from ultimate evil! As for slade being completely evil... I kind of think of him as a grey character who leans a bit more to the dark side. Oh sure he does evil things, but he seems to do them just to test robin rather than for no reason. That's what's scary about slade though; despite everything he's done, he never appeared to have a finish line. It's one test right after the other for Robin, and the whole time Slade looks like he's in control. Hell, even when he died he had plans against Robin to test him, and THAT is truly scary. The fact that even beyond the grave, he can hurt you. Great job, keep goin and stay golden^^

I think it's a reference to this one Teen Titans fic called These Black Eyes, which the author of this fic has recommended before. I don't want to give too much away, but early on in the fic is a story arc where Slade tries to manipulate something he calls "the Balance of Morals," which is basically a fancy way of saying Karma. Slade claims that the Balance of Morals is the reason why he never wins: because Slade is evil, but the Balance always leans towards good, meaning that he will always lose to the Titans simply because they are good and he is evil.
