First of all, I like the idea. It's really unique. I think making everything in italics is a mistake, though. It's just visually distracting. There are also some punctuation type errors that you should proofread for.

All that aside, I really like this a lot. It's so tragic. To be so full of love as an immortal and... so unable to connect with mortal ponies in a way to properly share it... It reminds me of my own romance-fic where Luna falls for a common unicorn. Nice work!

It's rather of intriguing what kind of religion they have when they got an immortal right at the top of the government

I was expecting idiotic religion bashing, but this is brilliant. Celestia has a very nuanced and intelligent view of the situation based on her own unique perspective. As an immortal, she doesn't have the same view about death, fate, destiny, and the passage of time that her subjects have. At the same time, she is very aware of that fact.

She doesn't have to think about the future the way that mortal ponies do. Thus, the questions of "Why do I really exist?" and "I must have a higher purpose for living, or am I just a mere accident?" and so on that plague mortal ponies and lead them to spirituality mean something very different to her. The characterization here is fantastic.

One, this is remarkably deep and incredibly awesome, if not really sad. How cruel is it that the pony who's love is greatest can never feel love in return? All the time in the world is no time at all, as it were.

Two, I want to give her a fucking hug. She probably doesn't get a lot of hugs.

Somehow, this reminds me of the Princess Molestia tumblr page. In this one image, she's disguising herself as a statue in order to spy on the sex lives of her citizens.

This makes me think that you might like my own stories in which Luna falls in love and wants to get married as well as have kids but she has to deal with the morality of those whom she loves. I'm sorry if I come across as a shill, but I'm just curious because you're writing the same kind of emotional stuff that I wrote.

Yes, this is not bad at all, so I too am surprised that not more are reading it.  I fear I must agree with the person who said rendering the story in consistent italics is not advisable.  If the intention was to vest it with some singular tone of import, the italics are actually unnecessary.  Furthermore, you are effectively depriving yourself of one of the best tools for emphasis in a story, which is the italic typeface; the style of inversion, or of primary italic text with non-italicised text for emphatic points, hardly works as well.  

I wonder how long this diary will go for. Perhaps we will see what she thinks of her life beyond Twilight?

Ah, and she finally addresses the most disturbing thing about the show.

Are ponies born with their futures already decided, or do they define their own fate? I cannot imagine the former to be true, a life already decided isn't much worth living. That's a scary thing to think about, being born to do a certain task and nothing more. They'd be like machines. Not even Celestia and Luna would have any control over their lives, then; They'd be doomed to do the same thing, over and over, for the rest of their possibly horribly long lives.

  I can already see where this is going.  Twilight is going to be a casualty, she will die, be maimed or be mentally tainted by the conflict.  Whichever one it is, they're going to have an angry Celestia on their hands.

  This story is a fun read, if rather predictable, I thought we had been thrown a curve-ball when Twilight said no but I was wrong.

I am not sure what to think of these recent entries... I feel something big and bad coming up, yet I am now getting the feeling it will start by Celestia herself due to her boredom. And if it is not her who starts it, it will cause untold stress and grief on her, potentially throwing her into a 'nightmare' state similar to Nightmare Moon.

I am thoroughly enjoying this fic, but I am now getting worried for the future of it... it is starting to get a dark feel to it...

It was always a habit of mine to be discouraged when I see chapters that don't even crest 1k words. (Probably bad of me, but I think others feel similar).

But then your story comes along, and the short entries actually help and makes sense. (Great story!)

That being said, It's a pretty common theme I think for authors to write Celestia's reaction to Twilight's death. (As a reader it's always cool to see this scenario play out in the multitude of ways it can.) You've done a really good job capturing it I feel.

Carry on! I'm predicting Celestia's going to fall victim to a "Nightmare Moon" Scenario.

I decided to begin reading this story tonight.

I never thought I would go through a range of emotion this wide...

Moments ago I was overfilled with joy for Twi and Tia. Now.... I breaks my heart to see where this is leading... When Twilight passes away, Celestia lost her guiding light... I just feel like she wanders aimlessly, until something even more regretful happens, and only then she realize how... unprincesslike she's been... Then I would suspect the whole story to repeat itself. She'll remedy to the situation by attending to her royal duties without end, 24/24, until something - or rather somepony sweep her routine away once again...

It's a sad story, but I feel like it could be very possible....

This fiction is really worth more attention than it actually gets. It's sad that it cannot be accepted on EqD because of this rather stupid 2,500 or so words minimum, where it could help this amazing fiction get the spotlight it really deserves.
