CartsBeforeHorses

Put the cart before the horse, mix things up, and look at them in a different way.

Trixie is on trial for enslaving Ponyville and mutilating several ponies with her magic during "Magic Duel." The Equestrian media wants to turn this into Equestria's trial of the century. Trixie, being Trixie, naturally soaks up the media attention. She gives dozens of interviews, basking in the glory of the cameras.

However, she becomes concerned that she may not get a fair trial, and even if she did, she worries that she's already been convicted in the court of public opinion... which to a performer like her, is the most important court of all.

I can play the piano with my eyes.

And that matters how?

~Skeeter The Lurker

Well off the Crystal Empire then. Damn press with their interview requests! I was surprised Trixie didn't up in jail after that episode. This story explains it all!

2909618 I miss I were that talented :raritydespair:

The best part of this was when Iron Will, Flim and Flam were media personalities. They were great. Now THAT should be a story!

The Iron Report! (don't pronounce the last two words for full comprehension)

If this story takes place immediately after Magic Duel then how can Scott Free have gotten Rarity off on the Cutie Mark Defense for the events of Magical Mystery Cure?

2910367 Uh, because... er... yeah, that's a plot hole. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll fix it.

Pretty good though why exactly would Trixie be allowed out and about in public before the trail if she was arrested? Shouldn't she have been in jail until the trail began?

Or does the Equestrian Law System work a bit differently?

2911514 She was allowed bail because they didn't consider her to be a flight risk, and didn't think that she would likely commit other crimes. Also, if you're let out on bail, usually they monitor you and you have to check in with them every day.

Ah media - a double-edged sword. Regardless of innocence or the lack thereof, all are guilty in the public eye.

Cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But if Pinkie can read minds, then why did she think her friends dumped her as a friend when they were planning a party for her?

3015028 She received her powers in an accident which happened after that episode :pinkiehappy:

This courtroom could use some music:

Trixie is now officially the OJ Simpson of Ponyville

I have no objection with this fan fiction.
