Interesting...
The writing itself has a few mistakes here and there, but overall this is a really well-written story. Short, tight, and subtle. A "swift blow to the chest," not unlike what poor Guy had to suffer at the end.

If this is about a changeling, why does it not have a Changeling tag?
I don't understand the ending... or should I say, lack of ending? Is this really complete?
This is like a prologue. Maybe a first chapter. It's like it sets an interesting scene, and then... doesn't do anything with it. A few things happen, a conflict is established, and then the writing just stops before it becomes a full story.
