Enduring Man-Child

Every year in reading class, the little fillies and colts at Ponyville's elementary school read and perform a play. Ironically, shortly before this year's assignment the Cutie Mark Crusaders see a TV talk show featuring "Equestria's Greatest Living Playwright." So they figure...why put on something from an elementary school textbook when they can perform a masterpiece?

This fandom never fails to surprise me. A story all about the works of Tennessee Williams? Awesome.

Love your playwright names. Especially Lillian Tartarusman.

2911740Thanks. As I said, this is based on a short feature I submitted to "Equestria Inquirer," but didn't make it onto the program. I'm glad I finally got to use the idea. Thank you for understanding and appreciating it.

I'm so glad you asked me to read this, this was highly entertaining! I'm so disappointed it doesn't have more reads :fluttershysad:
And honestly, silly Cheerilee! All literature is dirty when you really look at it :ajsmug:

Thanks! And you're right; no one seems to like this story. I was actually proud of it. (It started out as a news report for Equestria Inquirer that never got accepted.)

Returning with a comment.

It is rather entertaining to think of all the various ways the main six are so irresponsible. Twiilight is well meaning but her enthusiasm for those investigating knowledge, of any kind leads her to a bit of absent mindedness.

Rarity prefers to see the world as a radiant beacon, a glimmer of beauty. But when something appears that doesn't fit with her idea of beauty, she over reacts.

Pinkie Pie would do anything to see another smile. Regardless of whether or not that individual wants to.

Applejack is a hardworking, honest individual. She often puts her work in front of her obligations to others though, and has been noted to turn hypocrytical against her code of honesty if she feels the situation calls for it.

Fluttershy tries to show kindness to others, in everything she does. She doesn't quite know how to interact with others though, and her kindness can often be misinterpreted or will completely miss the mark. She has been shown to have fits of extreme anger when placed in situations where her manipulations don't garner her desired result.

Rainbow Dash claims she would never leave a friend hanging. Often, that is the truth. But she is bull headed and stubborn, often not being able to see or tell when one of her friends truly needs her to be there for them.

Spike is an eager youngling. He has a wide range of sides he chooses to display. A dependable individual you can have do tasks. Someone you can talk to if you have a problem. Unfortunately for all of his merits, Spike is still a very young individual, not being mature enough to properly cope with the situations he thrusts upon himself.

5803849 Thanks for reading and favoriting this story. I put a lot of effort into the names and references and it really saddens me that so few people have liked it.

Unfortunately, a lot of people put too much stock in the title and description. And I don't want to sound critical, I'm just making an observation, but neither of yours tells a prospective reader exactly what it is they're about to be reading. Nothing that abjectly screams 'Hey! The CMC got their hooves on novelized smut! Cheerilee don't like that! Twilight goofed!'

Again, just an observation. 90% of readers will reject a story solely on reading the description. If you can't grab someones attention right from the first few words they see of your work, they're just going to go elsewhere and be persnikkety snobs there instead.

And yes, I do realize this is a very pessimistic view of humanity as a whole.
