This was touching. I personally thought that it would have been a really fitting ending if you had ended this with the single seed line. Aside from that, there were a few typos and grammatical errors, but overall a very good story.

awesome story, I only saw a few misspells and what not.
But, all in all it was a very good story.
The misspells didn't matter, this story was beautiful! It has made me cry several times!
3 things, first of all, great story, a great tear jerker, and i would reccomend it to several people (and ponies)
2. Great image, if you hadn't had the image i would have probably ignored the entire story
3. WHY DID EVERYONE CHOOSE THE FIRE FOR THEIR PROMPT (i'm beginning to get lost in a sea of fire stories) yours was absolutely amazing, and i'm kinda wondering why it didn't win.
