It won't let me rate it for some reason! However, I do think this is definitely at least a 4.5/5 piece of work - very nicely written, and I'm totally down for any more of the story.
My only critiques would be to try to reduce the exhaustive amount of ellipsis (the ...) that you used. I know they work well for emotional scenes, but sometimes it is best to withhold them for only the most emotional moments.

I know, right? Why DOES everypony have to kill Fluttershy? I mean, I thought I was a genius five weeks ago when I thought my "original" idea to write a story about Nightmare Moon coming back was going to be a huge success!

Thank you for your compassion. I've read three this week, and it's driving me crazy. Unlike your story which cancels out most of it with a for lack of a better term, happy sadness. The comments that make an author want to keep writing... 
I had two reasons for depicting Twilight being as depressed as she was. Maybe you read "When nopony's Looking?" I've got my own little background understanding for each of the characters, and for Big Macintosh, it was that he was actually a poet... and a big softy.
For Twilight, it was that she was shunned and tormented by others at the school because her arcane skill surpassed everypony else's, and that Miss Smarty Pants was the only thing she had to keep herself going during that time.
This is actually one of my favorite fictions, even though I wrote it.
