It's not even that, necessarily, as much as it is you don't notice your own mistakes. This is why it greatly benefits authors and programmers to have someone else look over their writing/code. Because issues that you gloss over (because you wrote them) might be noticed by someone else.
So, Warhorse doesn't know where Battle is? They certainly do, now. I see a bad moon a-risin'.
Siddenly, the name "Battle Ready" makes even more sense than it did, when you consider that he knows a spell allowing him to turn literally anything into a weapon.
Figures, just as soon as I was loosing interest, Miss Sparkle is in grave danger. Now I'll have to keep reading.

Now I know I'm not the only one commenting here.
I'm still seeing a few mechanical errors here and there that might benefit from a pre-reader, but the story otherwise is very solid. I will admit to being a bit fuzzy on why the Elements basically amount to squirt guns against Wrath, though. It seems like they should do something, although I also admit to basing this on the notion that it seems odds that Wrath, the embodiment of violence, can be fought most effectively with more violence.
I'm pretty sure that's mainly my view of things, though. Anyone else want to chime in?
If they really wanted to secure an alliance between Warhorse and Equestria,mthe obvious solution is to marry Tactical to Blueblood. Airhead brat and spoiled prat, they'll get on like a house fire.
More importantly, they'll be so busy being absorbed in the other's vanity, they won't have time to cock up anything that anyone else is working on.

Then you recaptured my full attention with the kidnapping of Miss Sparkle. I think your battle sequences are well written and I normally hate anthro-ponies but I've enjoyed this one so far. I've noticed a lot of technical errors as well and I sometimes feel like your a little rushed. That's my two bits.
I plan to continue reading, if only to see the epic battle/war at the climax.

hey d101 idk if you take tips but i wanna help you here whenever you describe battle scenes although they are epic i can sometimes picture them as humans cause they way you describe the fights not all of them only some just wanted to throw that out there

And so, does the saga conclude. All in all, I enjoyed it, and while there were moments when Battle seemed... I don't know. Overpowered or Stu-ish, so what? Luke Skywalker is a total Stu. Don't get me started on Mara Jade.
I think the only real problem I had was that there was never a moment where it seemed like he faced a real challenge. And, I guess also when Battle remarked that the only reason Wrath went after Twilight was to piss him off, since that sort of suggests that Twilight wasn't more than a possession to Battle.
And finally, I demand more Tactical! I know she's only supposed to be an inconvenience for comedic value, but I'm interested in knowing what her deal is. How does Warhorse, which clearly places very high societal value on military service and combat prowess, produce someone like her, who very clearly would be more at home in Canterlot than Legion?
