What about editing? You edited this too, right?

That was fantastic!

I loved it. Such a tragic tale. That would of made some amazing canon. Thank Luna for fanon Trixie :p

Far as Sombra and the Queen goes, it was nice to see a bit of back story there. Shoot, I need to work on braving through a story at least one... I still want to get that Sombra origin, and Queen Cadence fic out before S4's Pony Games episode.

You did so much for Trixie in so little words. Great job!

THIS NEEDS MOAR CHAPTERS NOW

2605604

More chapters? Nope.

Possibly revisiting it later as a full on fic, with this condensed version being extrapolated into a full story? Better odds :trixieshiftright:

2605649 EXACTLY.

However, I feel it would be better (and this is just me) that Tricie starts this journey bent on destroying Twilight, and, by the end of the story, is able to properly bury the hatchet as it were with her.

Of course, this is your story and NOT mine, so do what you want

A mare tries to find her purpose by looking to other ponies, but this is heartbreakingly foolish. She soon discovers that other ponies will take away her purpose when she fears them, and that the ones she looks down on will soon look down on her.

Doesn't she know that everypony's fate is theirs and theirs alone?

P.S. This might work better with a tragedy tag than a sad tag.

You don't actually say it, but Trixie placed that curse on the queen, did she?
I don't think I like this Trixie, but I guess you didn't mean her to be likable. A great story though.

New headcanon get! :trixieshiftright:

meh

you better actually follow this up....in the name of BRILLIANCE!

This is a very original take on a Trixie fic. I really enjoyed it. Hope you come out with things like this in the future. :trixieshiftleft:

Oh another question. Is the Trixie in this fic immortal? If so, are you implying that all crystal ponies are immortal?

2611432

The implication is that a Crystal Pony without the Crystal Empire is a complete anomaly, so it's like the universe doesn't know what to do with her.

That's as far as I'm gonna explain it now, though... the more I think about it, the more I want to turn this into a full-out fic.

Yay. An interesting idea! More than one even.

This story breaks new ground by not only having a good Trixie backstory, but a good Sombra backstory as well. After reading all the other stories that were much of the same thing, this one was a pleasant surprise. It's surprising how well it all fits together too. It's not perfect in every place, but there's a lot of interesting links in here I never would have thought of on my own. The concept of Trixie being a crystal pony who's a thousand years old works very well. She seems to fit right in with the royalty there.

Sombra is handled tastefully. Usually writers don't know what to do with him, because he's such a bad character on his own. Making him go insane, and then showing his past personality is a good way to get around his faults and make him interesting. I think the tragic past on Sombra works well. It's better than anything anyone else has done at least. The connections to future Trixie are a little disjoint, but they are strong enough that she feels like the same character in both places.

Now for the pointless nitpicking. Why did Trixie spend nearly a thousand years doing nothing? That would have been really boring. Also, if she's a thousand years old, how much better at magic does she plan to get before Twilight dies of old age? Also, there's only like... 8 towns in Equestria. Not many places to move to. None of that stuff really matters. It's just funny to think about.

So overall, a very good Trixie story with an original premise. The best of the stories in the event I have read so far.

2611446 My own idea was that since the Crystal Empire was frozen in time for a thousand years, she, like her countryfolk, also did not age, despite being out and about in the world. When the Crystal Empire returned, in that case, she would again begin to age normally.

Definitely an interesting take on Trixie. And I kinda like some of the ideas that popped up too (Sombra wasn't always a giant ass hat?!).

If I had one problem with it, there weren't any real emotion till the canon part of her meeting Twilight. Though I'll forgive it for being a 24 hour flash fiction. Good work though! :)

Kinda annoyed this ended before the alicorn amulet.

This is pre Twlicorn. That opens the door to a hilarious follow up, where Trixie trains to peak unicorn power levels. Then she returns to witness Twilight in the middle of the epic Tirek battle. Turns around and walks away.

...It didn't.

Good fic. I was just thinking about the possibilities of Trixie's life prior to her appearances in the show, and although this was nowhere near where I was thinking of taking it, it was still a lovely idea.
