Honeycomb

T

A psychedelic romp through an absurd premise, wherein lightning kills Fluttershy. Lovingly. Critics are raving about the summer romance of the year!

I thought this was going to be a blog post.
It wasn't.:applejackunsure:

I am glad to see you are enjoying yourself, though. The gleeful fulfillment of self-destruction and erratic ecstasy of writing horse erotica.

I don't even know about this one. It started out as a bunch of words I enjoyed too much to just throw away. I'm glad it got past moderation at least.

I do have a real story in pre-production, and it's gonna get everything I've got, so treat this as a scrap.

People need to leave more damn comments.

Ah, so now I finally get to see the whole thing, and what a thing it is.

Nietzsche Kierkegaard, I feel like there's a lot that I want to say about this, but I don't know what that is. It's certainly interesting, at the very least, and possibly the most surreal story I've read on FiMfic (though, admittedly, the number of surreal stories I've read here can numbered in the single digits), but I can't help but think that it sort of falls apart near the end.

The beginning is wonderfully psychedelic, and, if you pay attention, you can just barely make out what's happening, but the end seems to toss that psychedelia out the window, only to grab it moments before it leaves and tear the feeling in half, leaving the story feeling decidedly grounded. Still, as underwhelming as the ending might've been, I enjoyed it.

Also, because I know you, and how you work, I'm sure I saw a few muted Bible references, not that there's anything wrong with that, mind. I more just want to know if I'm imagining things or not.

This read like the literary equivalent of a Frank Zappa album. I liked it.

Thanks! I'll have to listen to some Zappa to see what you mean.

2575334 HOW DO YOU NOT KNOW ZAPPA??? Cmon dude... Suzie cream cheese bro-ham.

Shrubs and berries and ferns and mushrooms strongarmed their way out of the soil under a tree whose branches looked like muscular human arms trying to seize the sky.

This story deserves a thumbs up for that sentence alone.
