(Being a fan of the Kingdom Hearts series and MLP, I've wondered what would happened if these two lores ever collided. This would be a possible outcome. First story here, go easy on me and feedback is appreciated.)

Heartless always confused me by their name since they are a heart that has yielded to darkness they technically have hearts.

Basically they want to make nobodies out of luna and celestia, but first they need to make them heartless.
Because...... when the creatures heart is taken away heartless takes the heart, and the empty body becomes nobody.

Square Enix re-released it for the PS2 think its called RE-chain of memories. Pretty much the GBA version.. but redone for the PS2.

There is one thing I noticed that wasn't mentioned in the explination of the KH universe. Nobodies are created when the person who lost his or her heart had a strong will or soul (not heart). In the KH universe, every living being is made up of three parts: the body (the physical manifestation), the heart (the emotional capacity), and the soul (the will and desire). Nobodies are made up of the body and soul, with the soul being so strong as to be able to operate without the heart.
There are a few other things that I'd like to mention, but they are fannon and debatable, the above is cannon. The story where I got most of the fannon things I'd want to mention (ex: Dark Keyblade versus artificial Keyblade) is called "Interference" on FF.net by Newbie-Spud. I'd recommend reading that for ideas on how to explain some things that are cannon (he did an amazing job, one of the few stories that get a 5/5 from me in several categories).

I have Played 358/2 Days.
But Sora gave his heart to Restore Kiri's heart and due to that event Roxas and Namine' where created through Sora's friendship with Kiri.
Axel Is Roxas friend, But Roxas and Namine share more in-common then any other Nobody their origin is from Sora becoming a heartless.
Most likely Why Axel and Roxas became friends in the first place was due to Ven and Lea becoming Friends, Since Lea is Axel and some of Ven's heart resided inside of Roxas.
You know, this fic is good but it's just not what I was hoping for when I decided I really wanted to see a KH/MLP crossover. Kingdom Hearts was a masterpiece, but only a small part of that is thanks to the whole plot of the Keyblade/Keyholes, the Heartless/Nobodies, Ansem and Organization XIII; what made Kingdom Hearts perfect was the Disney influence. I have read a number of KH crossovers, but none have been finished and only one was written in the style of the actual KH games, but that fic hasn't been updated in months so I'm almost certain it's been abandoned. While this fic may be exciting and carry on some of the good elements of the KH franchise, it's just so empty without them actually leaving Equestria and/or meeting any Disney characters.

I'm okay with this fic, but I'm still not going to be really happy with this branch of crossover until I see a well done one in which the Mane Six are the ones travelling the galaxy to different Disney worlds. As I said, I've only seen one that fits that criteria, but it's incomplete and has been abandoned by its author, so it's nowhere closed to finished and yet never going to be finished

i don't have so clear memory of last playthrough on 358/2 days, but in KH2 axel said that he liked roxas because he was so close friend to him and made him feel like he had a heart. Sora gave his heart to kairi to prevent riku(?) from opening kingdom hearts, and kairi was one of the princesses.
When a strong heart is lost to darkness a heartless is formed and the empty shell continues to look a purpose for itself.
Damn KH saga is full of controversies.

Sora used the Keyblade of Darkness to unlock his heart so Kairi could get her heart back since it was locked inside of Sora's heart.
When Axel had a heart he was called Lea and Lea became friends with Ventus Whose heart Resides within Sora's heart now, When Sora unlocked his heart with the Keyblade of Darkness some of Ven's power was unleashed and stuck with Sora's Body and soul witch became Roxas and that is Why Roxas looks more like Ven insted of Sora.
