Any of you guys familiar with Hades?
Yes, I'm almost positive that you're aware of the ancient Greek mythological deity. But I'm also referring to a game called Hades, made by the guys who made Bastion and Transistor among other things.
The titular dude. I'm as confused as you are about the beard, but who am I to criticize the fashion choices of the gods?
This has been one of the best weeks where I barely play anything else during my free time.
Credits rolled on Hades, with this absolutely amazing piece accompanying it.
Still plenty more to do as well, so I'm not done playing.
I've been feeling the itch for an ARPG lately.
The Diablo II Resurrected beta test didn't do it for me, and I didn't feel like diving back into Path of Exile again.
So I downloaded Hades from Game Pass, and then the next nine hours vanished.
Very, very easy to see how this game got so many awards last year.
I'm looking forward to dying so much more.
Well, now I've done it. There Goes The Neighborhood just had the first chapter posted.
I have no idea what originally triggered this story idea, but it dates back to an odd thought/conversation about how much Greek there was in My Little Pony, from pegasi to the tall mountain on which the goddesses made their home, and two totally random brain cells made contact.
Lately, I've been playing a lot of Hades, a Greek mythology-themed rogue-lite where you try to resolve the pantheon's family drama by repeatedly attempting to escape the underworld.
Don't worry, I'm going somewhere with this. Mild game spoilers ahead.
The following is a dramatis personae of my latest story, Brat Out of Tartarus. Some spoilers for the story, at least in terms of who shows up.
*The God of the Underworld was screaming angrily while blazes of fire flew in the air. He angrily destroyed his table and slammed his fists on the wall which caused it to crack.*
HADES: DANG IT! DANG IT! DANG IT!!!! I almost had that worthless glory hog!! (his head erupted like a volcano after he said so)
PAIN: At least you tried, boss. (nervously smiles)
PANIC: Yeah... uh...is there something we could get for you?
So, I wrote a story for a shipping contest, featuring Trixie and Sombra, taking some loose inspiration from the myth of Hades and Persephone.
Just a fun story with some goofy worldbuilding featuring a happy crackship.

After I did the last two, I found myself wanting to do another that basically serves as a roast to Opaline, although I knew that I needed to make a change of pace from using clips of Moe Howard from the Three Stooges.
