These rules are entirely up to Administrator discretion. We will determine what stories break these rules and what stories do not. These rules do not apply retroactively. We are not banning any users for this.

We are no longer accepting stories that are clearly written as an in-joke between people with little relevance to those outside the group (AKA circlejerking). Here is an example of a story which would violate this new rule: http://www.fimfiction.net/story/7114/

In addition, we are also no longer accepting "meta" stories. This includes stories that are written about the site, or about users on the site. OCs are usually exempt from this rule but, again, this will be up to administrator discretion. Here is an example of a story which would violate this new rule: http://www.fimfiction.net/story/16424/

I seriously can't believe I even have to post this. We aren't going to instantly ban you if we see you making a roleplaying post. We will delete it and warn you. If you "tag" someone on their profile, we will delete it and warn you. This has always been the case.

We will ban you if you CONTINUE to break the rules, or ignore our warnings. We don't have a single person on our ban list that didn't absolutely deserve to be completely removed from our site.

We are going to be adding comment reporting and timed bans very soon in the future. Comment reporting will help us police the new rules we've put in place, and timed bans will allow us to follow up on warnings without permanently banning people from the site. We're also planning on some way to make sure that every user is at least aware of these news posts, maybe via a notification or a banner at the top of the site.

This hasn't really been a huge problem, but I have noticed that a few people have started roleplaying on the site

Don't do this.

We're not going to even bother trying to justify our reasons, as I'm pretty sure nobody will bother listening to them. Just don't roleplay in the comments. I'm not going to be banning old roleplay accounts, since some of them have stories and everything, but new accounts made specifically for roleplaying will get you banned. Roleplaying comments will be deleted with a warning sent, and further action taken after that.

FAKE EDIT: Just to clarify, you ARE allowed to roleplay inside of groups SPECIFICALLY MADE FOR ROLEPLAYING, and also on blog posts SPECIFICALLY MADE FOR ROLEPLAYING. If you roleplay ANYWHERE ELSE you will be warned and possibly banned for further offenses.

REAL EDIT (05/29/12 0957 CST): I have no idea where people are getting the idea that we are banning people for roleplaying on the first offense. Roleplaying comments will be deleted with a warning sent to the creator, and then further action will be taken if the user continues to violate the rule. This usually will mean a ban, but not in every case. I never once said that I would be banning anybody for roleplaying on the first offense!
