I'm not in denial. Mom and Dad are still out there, somewhere. Still alive. They have to be alive. They just... had to go away. I know it for a fact. I've known it for almost a decade. I'm not lying to myself. I still remember that day... The day when they... when they... That day never happened. They aren't dead. It never happened...

What do you do when you know that your friends and family are in danger, but no one listens to you?
Ponyville is a grand metropolis. A peaceful city, in the peaceful land of Equestria, just waiting to be attacked. Demons from Tartarus begin to assault the town, demons that cannot be seen by the naked eye, picking off ponies before they can even blink. Two ponies realize what is going on and try to hold them off, but they bite off more than they can chew, and nopony believes their pleas for help. As they struggle to fight back the creatures every day at sunset, the ponies come across numerous hints that they may be descendants of six very important mares from times long since past. But as the attacks grow more frequent and the death count rises, the duo must find the source of the demons and exterminate them before they wipe the pony race off the face of the earth.
Thanks to Beige Monkfish for being my primary editor! He also wrote the prologue as a little gift to me! Thanks again, bud!
[Predecessor to Expectations (a superior rewrite) which can be found on Beige Monkfish's page.] Twilight Sparkle lives a generally normal life, full of everyday things with no strange events. Just a Unicorn. Have you ever heard of a Unicorn suddenly growing wings? Maybe. Twilight, running into this situation, realizes quickly that this may drastically change her life. She might have to move to Canterlot, away from her friends, and manage the sun in Celestia's stead, or...or something. But she doesn't want her life to change. She comes up with a solution: Hide it, keep it a secret, a-and don't let anypony know. No one ever needs to know. If nopony knows, nothing will happen. But...some of her friends are extremely prideful and idiosyncratic, and some even incredibly prying. Those friends...might be...angry...with her. Yes, they're good friends, but there is some thin ice you just don't trot upon. And you can't keep something a secret when it's so easy for somepony to find out.
Expectations can be found here.
