A unicorn awakens in a forest clearing with no recollections of his past or how he came to be where he is. He makes his was to Ponyville, where he attempts to regain his memory, discover who he is, and start a new life. While his streak of bad luck seems to continue, he finds happiness in the form of an apple fritter.

Matt has returned to the human world after a rough break-up with Twilight, spiraling in depression and memories from Equestria he finds himself awake during the early hours of the morning. The portal to Equestria is re-opened by Robbie and Matt is dragged through against his will, but stays to see what was so important that his friend would bring him back.

He soon discovers that Rainbowdash and Robbie are set to be wed within the next few days and Robbie would like him to be his best-colt. Another of Robbie's friends is dragged through the portal from Earth to attend the wedding, but as the date draws close dark forces begin to work and Matt and Robbie must once again, help to save Equestria from a terrible future.

In this tale Robbie goes to Canada to visit his friend Matt who says he has something to show him. The pair travel into Equestria via a portal gun which Matt has spent roughly 7 months developing. They both set up lives in Ponyville but things take a turn for the worse when unexpected events occur which could shake the very foundations of their lives to the core.
