Scootaloo is a brash, confident, no-nonsense kind of filly who acts first, thinks later, and isn't particularly concerned about consequences.

Silver Spoon is a proud, slightly timid, well-to-do young pony who would rather follow than lead, and has been friends with Diamond Tiara for as long as either pony can remember.

They have always hated each other, and they always will.
