Twilight Sparkle receives a worrying letter from Princess Celestia, but dismissing the possible dangers, she begins her day as usual. Events move apace beyond Ponyville's borders, however, and the small town quickly finds itself embroiled in an ancient conflict much larger than anyone dared imagine. Alone and without aid, how will Ponyville survive?

During the tragic Care Bear wars, Sergeant Quill Weave bears a heavy weight upon his shoulders: the well-being of an entire company of the Royal Equestrian Army. Cut off from the main force and besieged upon outpost Hill Six, supplies dwindle and casualties mount. With conditions worsening every day that passes, something will have to happen soon, or all will be lost.
