Twilight Sparkle was never born. As a mare, anyway. Instead, this story stars the young colt Dusk Shine, personal protoge of Celestia, asocial bookworm, and (unknownst to him) super-cute pretty boy.
When Celestia sends Dusk Shine to Ponyville, all he wants to do is prepare for Nightmare Moon's return. But when five certain mares each develop a massive crush on Dusk, he'll have more on his plate than Twilight ever did. (No clop scenes, I Pinkie Promise)

What do you do when you know that your friends and family are in danger, but no one listens to you?
Ponyville is a grand metropolis. A peaceful city, in the peaceful land of Equestria, just waiting to be attacked. Demons from Tartarus begin to assault the town, demons that cannot be seen by the naked eye, picking off ponies before they can even blink. Two ponies realize what is going on and try to hold them off, but they bite off more than they can chew, and nopony believes their pleas for help. As they struggle to fight back the creatures every day at sunset, the ponies come across numerous hints that they may be descendants of six very important mares from times long since past. But as the attacks grow more frequent and the death count rises, the duo must find the source of the demons and exterminate them before they wipe the pony race off the face of the earth.
Thanks to Beige Monkfish for being my primary editor! He also wrote the prologue as a little gift to me! Thanks again, bud!
I'm not in denial. Mom and Dad are still out there, somewhere. Still alive. They have to be alive. They just... had to go away. I know it for a fact. I've known it for almost a decade. I'm not lying to myself. I still remember that day... The day when they... when they... That day never happened. They aren't dead. It never happened...
Eithan Ryder is one of the last few students in his school to still have no pony to call his own. But when Princess Celestia senses a tremor in the moon, she will send her student, Twilight Sparkle to make the only bond strong enough to save the earth.
The April 1st chapter of Anthropology, which was temporarily posted in place of Chapter 18. I certainly was not going to let this masterpiece disappear forever.
Everyone wanted to see what would happen if Lyra watched an episode of My Little Pony, so I took that concept and pushed it to its most logical conclusion.
Twilight Sparkle wakes up one morning to find she's undergone some changes. She shortly discovers she wasn't the only one. (New cover art by Jamey4 on deviantart http://jamey4.deviantart.com/)
Warning, this work of fiction contains multiple fourth wall breaks, massive silliness, and more than a trace amount of alicorns.
The author may or may not have snapped at times in the writing of this work, and it shows. Bring a towel, you may get wet.
Celestia foresees a ruinous, dystopian future that will ultimately result from the untimely death of the Element of Magic: a future in which the world has become a frozen wasteland, and Discord has taken up uncontested rule of Equestria. Who is sending these visions, and how can Twilight possibly stop a future in which she is dead and gone? The answers will take our heroes on a journey through the streams of time itself, and unlock potential unseen by mortal eyes...
*On temporary hiatus while I re-evaluate the story's pacing. This concept could be far grander and more sweeping than what I've presented thus far, and I don't want to sell it short. Also: with the announcement of It's About Time, apparently time travel or some variant of it is officially canon. Suddenly I don't feel so bizarre writing this thing.
Finding herself with wings and unusually powerful magic, Twilight Sparkle proceeds to have breakdown after breakdown, until with the help of her friends, she confronts Celestia and Luna about it... And learns that she's a far more important little pony than she ever imagined - for all the wrong reasons.
Awesome painting by Drezzer can be found here!
20 megapixel version is here (10MB JPEG, 210dpi strangely, 24"x20")!
Thanks, man!

Humans.
Truth or myth? Ancient lost civilization or just an old pony's tale?
No pony has ever seen one, and most haven't even heard of them. But Lyra knows that these wonderful creatures are more than just old legends, and she's going to find out... and possibly drive her roommate insane in the process.
