Four years ago Vinyl and Octavia broke up. It was messy, painful and left scars on both of them. Four years on, now one of the most successful DJs in Equestria’s history, Vinyl receives news that Octavia has been in a terrible accident. The doctors say she may never recover from her coma, but Vinyl refuses to believe them. There are all sorts of stories about coma patients who are brought back by the voice of someone they care about, right? No matter what anypony else says, offers or threatens, and no matter what it costs her personally or professionally, she is determined to stay by Octavia’s side and do all she can to wake her.

But four years is a long time, and no matter how many fairytales end with the princess waking up, real life owes no-one a happy ending.

Rarity wasn't so sure of her life walking into this little night club on the East Side of Canterlot. But one stallion changes her unstable composure into one of pure desperation. Will she do anything, to achieve that long sought after dream of being the most respected and known designer in this bristling city?

This started off as a quick "one-shot" story one night while I was drinking some Fat Tire. After I sobered up, I realized eventually I may need to finally "complete" it. You'll understand what I mean when you reach the end. So, as of now, the story is marked "incomplete" until such a time that I think you've all suffered enough suspense.

After much contemplation, I have decided that this story is now officially marked "complete." Whether or not the numbers wanting an ending outweigh the numbers who want it to stay as-is makes no difference to me anymore. This story is done/finished/over/(insert 20 synonyms for "done" here).

Fret not, my little ponies, for there shall be one more update to this little universe. I will be posting a "prologue" that will take focus off Rarity and cast it on the OC, as I really enjoyed his character, and the chapter I have mostly written up for this story would make a decent one shot itself. Along it I may or may not lay subtle clues as to the fate of our dear fashion designer!
