Everypony has known Derpy Hooves to be a Ponyville staple for as far back as they can remember. Their mail has always gotten delivered on time, at least as long as everypony can remember. But when Twilight Sparkle is doing some research for her upcoming book on the history of Ponyville, she comes to startling realization: nopony can actually recount when Derpy came to Ponyville, or why she came there to begin with.

And when Twilight goes to ask her, she finds she may not have been prepared after all, for the repercussions of her one simple question: Just who is Derpy Hooves... and how far is she prepared to go for the ones she loves?

Written for the May prompt, "the first time", for The Competition Arena. Rated just to be safe.

Canterlot High is not your average school. Neither are the ponies that attend this school. The new school year is starting, and Octavia hopes she will at least make some friends at this strange school, with even stranger, maybe slightly crazy ponies. Hopefully her roommate is at least halfway normal...

Inspired by DawnFade's stroke of genius: "University Days" and modeled after my own crazy life. Slightly spiked up, because let's face it: my life is boring as hay.

When young Twilight Sparkle is afraid of the thunder and lightning one fierce night, there's only one pony who can comfort her and show her that there's nothing to be scared of. Her Big Brother Best Friend Forever.

(It's raining like crazy here and that's just how I like it so I became inspired and voila!~ I've been meaning to write a story w/ Shining and Twilight anyway because their relationship is so adorable. Hope you all like.)

Vinyl Scratch has worked her way to a pretty sweet life. She’s married to the mare of her dreams, Octavia Philharmonica, has two wonderful fillies, Spark and Ballad, and the coolest job in the world: being a DJ. One day, Spark asked her how everything came to be from the very beginning, and both Octavia and Ballad seemed interested in learning the truth behind Vinyl’s origins. And so that afternoon, Vinyl spun the tale of how she went from a humble beginning as music shop owner’s daughter to her eventual status as the famous (and infamous) DJ PON3.

EDIT: Added the 'Alternate Universe' tag because some of the Mane 6 are out of the semi-set timeline. I'm gonna go ahead and call this my OctaVinyl Timeline.

After losing out on first chair cellist in the Manehattan Philharmonic Orchestra to her biggest rival, Octavia tries to console herself with a healthy bout of moping and a strong drink. One drink soon becomes several, though, and her evening of debauchery leads to a long night of frenzied, sordid passion with her best friend Vinyl Scratch. It isn't until she wakes up in the morning with Vinyl's legs wrapped around her that Octavia remembers two very important things: one, she's straight. And two, if the infamously strict conductor of the Philharmonic finds out how unrefined Octavia's social life has become, she could lose her one and only chance at the only dream she's ever had in her life.

This could get a little bit complicated.

Lyra just returned home from the Grand Galloping Gala, completely exhausted from the experience.  Bonbon listens to her tale and admits that she wouldn't have been very good company, seeing as she can not dance.  The green unicorn was never one to take such a challenge lying down and offers to teach her the basics over a bottle of wine.
