In ancient times it was said a race of warriors, hailing from an alien world once walked the ground of old Equestria.

They were called the Silver People, a race of bipeds with glimmering armor and swords that came and assisted the alicorns during a time of great peril.

But even after grand victories and countless deeds, their kingdom lasted only for two-hundred years when according to myth, they had turned to the dark path they once swore to fight.

Millennia later, Twilight Sparkle's curiosity gets the better of her, and she is fully determined to learn what drove Mankind over the edge, and their fall.

The Cutie Mark Crusaders ask Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy about what happened just after the events of the Cutie Mark Chronicles; specifically, what happened to Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash immediately after the race.  Reluctantly, Dash and Fluttershy delve into a tale.  A tale of a young Fluttershy's amazement at the world she had landed upon, and a filly Dash's desperate quest to save her from that most evil of places: THE GROUND.

But even Twilight Sparkle has a dark side...

Twilight Sparkle is on top of the world: she's the newest addition to the Equestrian Principality, and everypony admires her success story. Everypony? Well yes, but somebody disagrees...

Equestria is at war. If a one-sided fight can even be called that. A thousand years of peace may have helped it prosper, but its once superior military was cut down each year, leaving only the Royal Guards, many of which have never seen combat.

The Elements were useless against a massive army, and there are barely enough guards to protect Canterlot.

Officially, there was no surrender. Unofficially, the country is already lost.

As a desperate last move, the princesses ask for help from a general who definitely has the power to turn the tide of this war. Thinking that this was all just a prank, he sends "help" in the form of wrecked enemy vehicles and a single construction dozer that got mixed in.

Isolated from her friends and taken prisoner in the middle of a war, Twilight must deal with the very real dangers of being percieved as an enemy as well as the nightmares of her arrival on 'Earth'.  Can she overcome her own fears and the fears of her captors?  Will the wayward unicorn's assistance be a boon or a curse to the 'humans?'  Most importantly, will she ever find her way home?

In the final hours, before the dawn of a new world, a solitary structure stands out amongst the whiteness of the snow and the dull grey of the Northwoods. One last monument of Humanity's presence on the planet, built of pinewood and stone. Within the confines of this structure, a man awaits his fate, demise coming toward him with each passing moment. But in these last moments, a familiar character comes to visit him, coming to see to the fate of the last Human left. The last pillar.
