In ages past, stories of warriors traveling the land, righting wrongs, defending the weak and needy, and engaging in epic deeds and romances, inspired many, both citizen and soldier. Princess Luna should know, because she was there for almost all of them, recorded many, exaggerated a couple, and outright fabricated a few. They have fallen into obscurity during the centuries of relative peace Equestria has enjoyed, but after the invasion of the Changelings nearly killed her sister, a chance encounter on the road finally convinces Luna that those ancient tales of chivalry need to be brought back. With a mysterious zebra joining her on the path, the quest begins, and for the first time in many, many years, Luna is completely unsure of the ending to her story.

When Equestria accidentally opened a portal to another world, they discovered a new species: humans. Their arrival changed the world. For the Equestrian Ponies, it heralded a great cultural and technological jump needed from their stagnating way of life. For the Gryphons, however, they represented something baser: an opportunity to increase food stock and finally have a 'friendlier' predator species to ally themselves with.

For Gilda, one of the the humans was Ancestor-sent, a soul she would protect for bringing much joy to her life. And when a chain of events force her to accompany her human to Equestria, she recalls the circumstances of their meeting, the trials they pass through, the friendship forged through fire, and love born out of understanding under the harsh skies of the Kingdom.

Far off in the distant north, beyond even the Crystal Kingdom's reaches, a lone city sits at the edge of the sea, one of the last of its kind. Cicero, a city still standing from the time of the original Crystal Empire, before the rise of King Sombra, lies practically untouched by the outside world. But an assassin of unknown origin seeks to bring upheaval to the city, and begins murdering several important political figures. Princess Celestia sends a marshal, one of Equestria's finest soldiers to get to the bottom of the mystery. This pony must delve into a hive of scum and politics before reaching the end. But what he finds may not be what he wants to find. After all.

We fear the dark for a reason.

Mr. Horse's pet courier has been murdered and his property stolen.  And while the price on the killers' heads is good enough to get any bounty hunter's attention, it's the bonus for returning a silly little poker chip that draws Dead-Shot in.

A pony could retire on that kind of jackpot...

Going to clubs may seem rather odd for you, but you find enjoyment from it because of a certain DJ. You get the chance to meet her after a show, but would she ever feel anything for somepony with your condition?

Crippled by smog since the day he was born, a genius inventor is ripped from his home and cast into a world of backroom politics and the dangerous games of immortals. A War with the ruthless Griffon Empire and its equally twisted allies looms on the horizon. Good ponies will die before its threat is ended, but love conquers all. . . doesn't it?

A steampunk/war fic set in an alternate universe designed to fit the story as well as possible. Some stuff will be different from the canon universe, but hey, this is fanfiction. Rated T for semi-harsh language, war violence, and the aftereffects.

It's late, in fact it's so late it's early. The clock in the room reads well past one in the morning. There's also a storm hammering against this girl's home, trying to lull her to sleep. Stubbornly, she remains awake, drawing, surfing the internet, and basically procrastinating another night away.

So, what is it that makes this night any different from another one that she has lived through? What strange occurrence occurs that makes it stand out? That changes her life forever? That changes the course of- Oh you get the idea.

While out hiking in the mountains near Ponyville, Big Mac discovers a mysterious staff which grants him the power of the ancient god Thor. Old myths awaken, new legends are born, and one simple farm pony is thrust in the middle - as the leader of Celestia's newest crime-fighting force, The Avengers! A fusion fic with Marvel Universe, mostly Avengers.

After being reformed by the Mane Six, Discord is having a difficult time adjusting to his new lifestyle, due in no small part to that fact that Princess Celestia still doesn't seem to trust him.  Luna, who is able to relate personally to Discord's internal struggle, allows him to travel abroad in an attempt to make amends, asking, in return, that he keep her updated on his discoveries concerning friendship.  Post-Reformation Discord, rated T for the possibility of some light sauciness in later chapters.  Also, a bit of shipping between several background characters, such as Lyra and Bon Bon.

Far in the West, out in the frontier, Babs Seed and Apple Bloom have found an adventurous, satisfying life. Business at their bar is booming and supporting Sweet Apple Acres, ending Applejack's economic woes (for the time being). Babs has reunited with her father and the savior of her foalhood, Turner.  North of no-pony's land, Citrus, Libra, and Braeburn are thriving in Appleloosa, though tensions between the locals and an influx of emigrants threaten to shatter peace in the tiny town.

Far in the East, in the belly of the beast, the once-glorious city of Manehatten has collapsed into a haze of unimaginable chaos and depravity at the hooves of its King. A King whose chessboard is rapidly expanding and whose Knights march to conquer and annex in the name of their Master.

When East and West clash at last, who will be left standing?

Third and final installment in the alternate universe timeline started by Tangled Roots. Preceded by Sweet Apple Anthology and beginning from the first story's Epilogue.
