A student of Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns stumbles upon a mysterious house in the streets of Canterlot, only to find it abandoned.   Once the door has been opened, it can never truly be shut.  Once the house has accepted him, he can never escape it.

His only hope lies hidden in the deepest chambers of Canterlot Palace, in this manuscript.

Twilight Sparkle, becoming anxious at the upcoming Summer Sun Celebration, which she believes marks the return of Nightmare Moon, beseeches Princess Celestia to do something about it.

Celestia, however, has another, more important task for her; making sure that the Summer Sun Celebration goes off without a hitch. Every year, a different town is chosen to receive the honor of hosting the grand festival.

And the lucky city chosen this year, for this fateful holiday, is none other than the city of Manehattan...

But what if an Earth pony decided he didn't want to play his assigned part?  What if he wanted to rise above everyone else, and become an Alicorn?  Such a thing is possible...but the path to fulfilling one's dreams is never simple.  Risks must be taken.  Sacrifices must be made.  And the question is always asked: How far would you go to get what you wanted?  And would you be willing to pay a terrible price to get it?

This started off as a quick "one-shot" story one night while I was drinking some Fat Tire. After I sobered up, I realized eventually I may need to finally "complete" it. You'll understand what I mean when you reach the end. So, as of now, the story is marked "incomplete" until such a time that I think you've all suffered enough suspense.
