When a lone baby draconequus happens to stumble into Cheerilee's class one day, the caring mare can't help but take it upon herself to attempt raising it.

But as time goes on Cheerilee soon learns the risks of taking in a draconequus. Risks; that could cost her and her new draconequus everything.

Millennia later, Twilight Sparkle's curiosity gets the better of her, and she is fully determined to learn what drove Mankind over the edge, and their fall.

Pincer is a changeling, a proud soldier of Queen Chrysalis. After the failed invasion of Canterlot, he finds himself trapped and at the mercy of Princess Celestia's Royal Guard. Believing that Celestia sees his species as nothing but soulless monsters, he prepares himself for the worst. The weeks crawl by, marked by an endless series of questions he will not answer for fear of endangering his friends and family at The Hive. As his nerves wear down and his interrogators learn just how ruthless he thinks they are, they have nothing to report but his belief that they will kill and destroy his kind without mercy.

Celestia steps in to prove him wrong, and what he learns leaves Pincer questioning everything he has ever known - but also gives him hope for what he'd never thought possible.

Princess Celestia is an ageless, immortal being.  Almost entirely unique except for her sister Luna, and she was gone for a thousand years.  One would assume that no other pony in the entire world could possibly be able to truly relate.  One would be wrong.  There is one other.  He's no all-powerful alicorn.  His greatest power is his intelligence.  He comes and goes at will, but always seems to be there during her worst moment.  Sometimes he has a different face.  Once he was a unicorn.  And at times, it seems she meets him out of order.  But he's a fantastic friend.  Simply fantastic.

*Note:  Even more than "A Friend of the Night" this story is going to be more along the lines of a series of interconnected short stories.  Some chapters might end up being a bit short as a result.*

Discord's statue has vanished from where Celestia had put it in the royal dungeons, but it doesn't seem to be because Discord himself has escaped.  Rather, somepony has stolen it.  Now the Doctor and his loyal companion Derpy will search time and space to find the culprit.  Bring on the drums!

My unicorn parents called me a worthless mud pony. They pushed me every day to overcome my lowly status. When I woke up one morning with my cutie mark, I thought they would love me. I couldn’t have been farther from the truth.

It was not destiny or enjoyment that led me to discover the cello and composing. My parents made that decision, deciding before I was born I would continue their family legacy of famous musicians.

They did not realize what that decision would cost them.

"Your Majesty!" "Your highness!" "My princess!" "My Sweet Goddess!"

These are all titles that Celestia has heard her little ponies call her. They hold her in the highest esteem, praising her for every little complement she gives them, and they look for her approval above all else.

Even her student Twilight treats her very highly, although that could be chalked up to a mother/daughter relationship. In fact, the only ones that don't treat her as a high and mighty, so-far-above-from-the-world-you-would-not-understand ruler were those not under her, and her sister.

Yes, everypony worships the very ground she treads upon.

And she is sick and tired of it.

The picture here seemed to get the premise of the story right. yes, sue me, I picked a picture to fit with the story, not a story for the picture. Please give the artist your full appreciation!
