An immortal life brings with it the curse of seeing friends and lovers leave one's side. The memories carry such heartache, yet Celestia would do anything rather than allow them to fade.
They must not be forgotten.
When Celestia went on sabbatical into the west, she promised Twilight it would be only a couple of months. A year and a half later, the sun resists control, the country is in ruins, and her teacher is lost in the wilds. Twilight has become the apostate, her faith in her teacher and her teachings waning. In the wake of tragedy, her resentment blossoms into fury and she vows that something must be done. Shadows gather around Canterlot, and old things that should not have been awakened are on the move. The Student goes west, her hope restored by friendship and righteous fury.
The night, at long last, is passing.
"Your Majesty!" "Your highness!" "My princess!" "My Sweet Goddess!"
These are all titles that Celestia has heard her little ponies call her. They hold her in the highest esteem, praising her for every little complement she gives them, and they look for her approval above all else.
Even her student Twilight treats her very highly, although that could be chalked up to a mother/daughter relationship. In fact, the only ones that don't treat her as a high and mighty, so-far-above-from-the-world-you-would-not-understand ruler were those not under her, and her sister.
Yes, everypony worships the very ground she treads upon.
And she is sick and tired of it.
The picture here seemed to get the premise of the story right. yes, sue me, I picked a picture to fit with the story, not a story for the picture. Please give the artist your full appreciation!
Note: there will be NO Twiluna, Twilestia, or ANY other lesbian ponyXpony pairing in this story. There was a misconception, so I thought I had to clear that up.
It's Parents' Day in Ponyville, and Applejack is hosting it's first ever annual festival! She jumps at the opportunity to meet all of her best friends' parents. However, as bad histories and old grudges surface and threaten to ruin the occasion, Applejack must restore harmony and save the day. In the process, she may come to terms with her relationship with her own parents...
Author's Note to Readers:
First off, thank you for viewing this page. As a fellow fan of the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, I've developed a true adoration for these characters, and felt inspired to write a story about how they, in my imagination, came to be who they are. Therefore, I chose to center the story around the girls' relationships with their parents, for in more ways than one, we are all the products of what our parents or guardians have made us. As the old saying goes, "The apple doesn't fall far from the tree."
To that end, please bear in mind that this is very much a character-driven drama, so there will be no action/adventure or anything of the sort here. Also know that I chose to depict the parent-child dynamic as very real, so expect controversial parental issues to be featured.
Make of this what you will. To those who continue reading, enjoy! C:
Something is wrong in the World of Dreams. Luna is unable to patrol the dreams of her citizens, and vivid nightmares plague the Elements of Harmony. When Applejack finds that her friends are trapped in their dreams, Luna gives her one task: she must journey into the World of Dreams to bring Twilight and the others back to the waking world.
But if she falls asleep, the nightmares will trap her, too.
Inspired by the Justice League episode also titled "Only a Dream".
