After overwhelming Ponyville's mayor, the main six must fill in as she takes a much needed vacation. Yet, only one pony can take the title of mayor at one time. Which of our favorite ponies will be the first substitute mayor? How long will she be able to last before passing the job to somepony else? And in the end, will Ponyville survive long enough for its real mayor to return?

This story was written as a prize commission for the Smile Album Charity Event. The original prize was one by Stormy Seas and he provided the original premise for this story. He always wanted a story that could be shared and enjoyed by everyone, so be sure to thank him if you know him.

Twilight gets a feeder to study birds.

She also bought a ton of seeds for it.

While she's frustrated at the fact her supply seems to be disappearing into thin air, she's about to realize that she has a much bigger problem on hoof.

Discord is a new draconequus now, and sworn to use his powers only for good, but that doesn't mean he can't still have some chaotic fun while on the job. Tasked with helping to reform a pair of thieves hiding out in an abandoned apartment building, the spirit of chaos decides to make a game of it. Two lost souls find their lives on the line, as they gamble their freedom in a battle of wits against a grand master, in his own House of Chaos.

After being reformed by the Mane Six, Discord is having a difficult time adjusting to his new lifestyle, due in no small part to that fact that Princess Celestia still doesn't seem to trust him.  Luna, who is able to relate personally to Discord's internal struggle, allows him to travel abroad in an attempt to make amends, asking, in return, that he keep her updated on his discoveries concerning friendship.  Post-Reformation Discord, rated T for the possibility of some light sauciness in later chapters.  Also, a bit of shipping between several background characters, such as Lyra and Bon Bon.

This is my story, for better or for worse, about how things in my life became beyond unbearable.

Author's note edit- I noticed a LOT of speculative comments and questions about M material. No, this story will remain E (Well I think T suits it better, it isn't A freaky friday kinda story like originally envisioned, for its length more interesting things will happen.) with only hints at and light swearing/mentions of beer. But no adult themes which take place in present time in this story. It's a drama and a slice of life strictly, expect things like Mary coping with her new body, dealing with neighbors, and learning how to survive in a world she's entirely alone as a pony in. Stuff of that nature.

Celestia wants Twilight and her friends to loosen up a little bit around her. Luna just wants to try the hard cider. During a surprise visit to Sweet Apple Acres at the tail end of cider season, Princess Luna has just a bit too much to drink, and when she makes a rather inappropriate joke, Twilight comes to the very uncomfortable realization that she has never seen Celestia excuse herself to use the restroom.

The business of government never stops, and paperwork never rests, even on Hearthwarming. But this particular Hearthwarming, Cabinet Secretary and tea enthusiast Dotted Line plans to do his level best to see it, at least, take a break. His ponies need to go home to their families, and he, well, he has plans this Hearthwarming.

After finding a chess set in the library's storage closet, Twilight is eager to play a few games and turns to Applejack and Rainbow Dash.  Teaching the two most competitive ponies in Ponyville a new game should be a snap, right?  RIGHT?!

Big Macintosh is a stallion of few words, but that doesn't mean he's slow or uneducated.  Unknown to any outside the Apple family, he's a wiz at math and finds himself smitten with the one pony who could share his love for numbers, and who just so happens to be the personal student of Princess Celestia; Twilight Sparkle.  With a "gentle" nudge from his persistent sister, Big Mac manages a date with the purple unicorn, but a relationship might turn out to be more work than either one bargained for.

Twilight has something she needs to tell Princess Celestia--something that means a chance at getting everything she's ever wanted, or of losing everything she's ever had.

Something so terrifying that the only way she could say it was in a letter...and so wonderful that she had the courage to send it.
