Once upon a time, in the magical land of Equestria, there lived a young dragon named Spike. This small Drake was alone, both when surrounded by the ponies that raised him, and the when among his draconic kin. He gave up on learning his history from other dragons, and settled for life with the ponies he loved.

Once upon a time, there was also a pegasus filly named Scootaloo, desperate to prove her worth to the world and, more importantly, to herself. she became a member of Equestria's first, and most destructive, Cutie Mark Crusader organization. She settled on a path of earning her mark to prove herself.

when these two young beings work together, they can accomplish the impossible, and when they fall, how deep will the landing jar them.

Rarity and Spike were hunting gems when the Diamond Dogs violently abduct the unicorn. Spike and the other ponies head underground to rescue her, but will things ever be the same again?

After the mysterious death of Spike, Rarity finds herself keeping an unusual secret: that Spike is, in fact, alive.

Sequel to the alternate ending of 'Snip by Snip.'

Upon Fluttershy visiting Spike one morning with an oddly detailed, though cute guest, the dragon soon decides he would like one too. After getting an adorable doll of his very own, he finds it difficult to keep such a thing secret from Rarity. Will she discover his secret? Will she be freaked out when, and if she does, or could she end up being overall flattered by the whole incident?

Rarity gets turned into a dragon (baby dragon). Now she only trusts Spike and hides from anyone else.

A few years after the show, a supposedly fortuitous event has occurred. Spike and Rarity have made one choice. Princesses Celestia and Luna have made theirs. Twilight is split between friendship and duty while Discord plays only to please himself. Each party is prepared to defend his or her choice until the end, and the end may very well occur...

Spike has established a lot about dragons and his kind, and knows of some troubling features. Will he find someone to cherish, or will he forever live alone, comforted only by his greed?

'The Challenges of Being a Dragon' is my first fan fiction, and an experiment on my behalf to toy with the concepts of Equestrian life. The project explores a romantic perspective between Spike and others, including Rarity, though it should be noted that this is NOT a primarily Spike + Rarity fiction.

After seemingly small lapse of judgment on Rarity's part, Spike is left in an emotionally vulnerable state. An attempt to cheer the saddened dragon by Applejack quickly leads to the development of affection between the pair. But Applejack is not the only one with feelings for reptilian assistant. Twilight also realizes her romantic love for the dragon as he spends more and more time outside the library and away from her. But her white counterpart soon admits her own feelings for her long-time, scaly suitor as well.

Twilight's friends miss her dearly during her absence following her coronation. Busy with her new duties as well as a side experiment, she has not had to time to even send more than a few letters. After recieving a letter from her though, Spike gathers the rest of the girls at the library. Where the walls start to...melt?

A fimilar face returns to Ponyville and immediately seeks out the new princess. Though her intent is not quite what the others expected to find.
