It happened. Twilight became an alicorn. Her mentor Celestia has never been prouder, her friends are amazed, her daughter Nyx is thrilled to death-- And both Twilight and the government are in a tizzy. By Equestrian law, she is effectively a princess. This is complicated by the fact that she's the adoptive mother of the former Nightmare Moon, and nopony is precisely thrilled at the notion of Nyx being within reach of the throne.  

It's further complicated by the fact that Twilight doesn't want to be a princess. She's a scientist! She's a researcher and a scholar of magic, not a ruler. If she takes her throne she'll have to give up the very things that put her on it in the first place--- her research, her beloved books, her home in Ponyville, her ties to her close friends, and if certain factions have their way, her daughter Nyx.

She's going to have to put up one hell of a fight to wrangle a compromise between the life that she wants... and the destiny that somepony else picked for her.

When Spike asked Twilight to help him create The Noble Dragon Code, he hoped a lot of things would happen.

Getting worshipped as a god by legions of theologically-inclined dragons wasn't really one of them but, hey, whattcha gonna do? Them's the breaks, kiddo.

Pinkie Pie challenges her friends to play a game in which they take turns being evil, with the rest of the players tasked to thwart the evil schemes. The stakes are high, and all of Ponyville is caught in the middle...

Since her return and rescue, Princess Luna has been looking for some way to properly honor the six mares who saved her from herself, but nothing she has been able to think of has seemed meaningful enough to repay her saviors.  

Nothing, at least, until she spends Nightmare Night in Ponyville, and gets to actually know the six ponies to whom she owes such a great debt.  She realizes she enjoys their company, and wishes for them to spend more time with her, that she might grow closer to them.

So, in accordance with many fine and ancient traditions, and after thinking it over for a good...couple of hours, easy, she proclaims that she shall marry all six of them.  Oh, and that Twilight will be marrying Celestia, too.

Now would be the appropriate time for everypony to panic.

After a late night of studying, Twilight Sparkle finds herself desperately wishing she could just get some sleep. However, she has class that day and, being the student that she is, she's not about to miss it over something as unimportant as sleep! However, when she gets to her class she discovers that staying awake may be a bit harder than she thought...

Note: I was inspired to write this right after I fell asleep in a class where we were discussing Alice in Wonderland. Go figure.

Spike has had it. It's not his fault the library is a shambles. In fact, he tried his very best to save it.

And now he's supposed to take the blame? Not this time! Until Twilight starts to fully appreciate his worth, Spike goes on strike!

Written in collaboration with a very close friend. Twilight Sparkle discovers at the last minute that her parents have arranged for her to marry Prince Blueblood! That's not all, there seems to be more to the marriage than first meets the eye, and the consequences leave a whole heap of responsibility on Twilight and her friends' laps that they may not be able to handle!
