Harry Potter, in a fit of despair after his friends leave him on the hunt for horcruxes, is discovered by Nightmare moon who promises to give him a favor in return for serving her forever more. He accepts this offers.

Hunter lives a normal life, until a completely abnormal unicorn appears on his doorstep. As Hunter gets taken to his favorite world, he finds that getting everything he ever wanted, doesn't mean that life doesn't come with its' share of problems. He has obtained great power, but with it comes even greater responsibility. Hunter's feats begin to attract quite the crowd, both good and bad. As the darkness threatens to overtake Equestria, will Hunter be up to the task of helping defend his new home?

In the underworld of Equestria, where lowlifes lurk and crime runs rampant, one pony is whispered about with fear and hate.  Not many know where he came from or why he (accidentally) left a trail of destruction through the criminal ranks.  In fact, Vinyl and Octavia were his only confidants.  Now the mysterious visitor is back, and he's, well... not a he anymore.

Story Description:

Chaos.

Chaos exists everywhere, in all things. Despite most culture's best efforts to prevent it, chaos always finds a way. This is the universe's way of maintaining balance; no order without chaos, no chaos without order.

Balance.

Unfortunately for the universe, things don't always end up working how they're supposed to. Sometimes the balance is thrown off, and a third party is required to intervene.

When dealing with this kind of thing on a universal scale, the intervention frequently consists of ripping something from one universe, and dumping it in another. When the intended result is to create chaos, that thing is usually a human. Little explanation is required as to why this is.

Chaos Mages. That's what these human enforcers of chaos have come to be called over the years. In a land where order is complete, and the mere presence of a human is not enough, these Chaos Mages will be granted certain abilities. These abilities can range anywhere from enough telekinesis to move a stone, to the ability to move an entire continent; it all depends on how off balance things are.

On a lovely world called Equus, lies the Kingdom of Equestria. Not long ago, this kingdom somehow found itself the target of a mad God. The duty of this God, known to the inhabitants of Equus as 'Discord', was once to ensure that the world didn't fall into a monotonous order. He went a bit overboard.

With Discord encased in stone, unable to influence the balance of the universe in which he had resided, things quickly calmed down. There were a few instances of the order being disturbed; the invasion of the capital of Equestria by a Changeling Swarm being prominent amongst them. After that, and a couple other outbursts of chaos, life quickly became disgustingly orderly for the citizens of Equus.

An intervention was deemed necessary. From across the dimensional void, a single human was plucked from his life, and dropped into the middle of Equestria. Of course, no one bothered to tell him what was going on.

Updates:

Yes, the human is turned into a pony in Chapter Three. I realize that this dissuades some people, so it should be noted that he's human again by the end of Chapter Five.

After all, whether it's a nobility jealous of your ascension, or a military unhappy with Celestia's decisions; one thing's certain: your reign will be anything but peaceful.

Sequel to Ascend

It has been several months since the disappearance of Twilight Sparkle..

One night, after watching her sister raise the Moon and set the heavens alight, Princess Celestia begins to bed down for the night, only to be interrupted by portal forming in her room.  From out of the portal comes none other than Twilight Sparkle, garbed in strange armor.

Princess Celestia, along with Luna, Cadence, and Shining Armor, are overjoyed by the Element of Magic's return, but are justifiably curious as to where she had been and what she had been doing.  And so, Twilight begins her tale.  A tale of survival against impossible odds.  A tale of a people fighting for the most basic right of all sentient beings.  The right to exist.

After a terrible accident when she was a filly Twilight Sparkle disappeared, but now she is returning home for the first time in 15 years. But Luna and Celestia are unsure of the stability of the damaged pony, and begin taking precautions against her.

You can't control time, but when you're is given a deal that is just too good to be true, you discover that not everything goes without a catch...

Read as a teen is transported to Equestria in exchange for the ability to manipulate time, and his struggle to cope with the differences in his world to this one... but not without having some fun first.
