'Course you do. It's me telling it, after all. When has Vinyl Scratch ever let ya down?

All right. Sit your flank down and listen. This one's gonna be good.

It's the story of a night of hard drinking, an old record shop, and the fate of a world I never knew existed. A story of ancient songs, angry gods, and weird and terrifying creatures. A story of a certain white unicorn and her mostly-willing quest to save the universe, with the help of a snarky piece of sentient jewelry, some sweet magical powers, and a host of strange and interesting characters.

And it's about friends, too. And love, and promises made and broken, and the endless beat of the eternal song that runs through all of us.

... Jeez, that got pretty deep, didn't it? Well, anyway, yeah.

This is that story.

After rising to stardom following Rarity's first, poorly received fashion show, Vinyl Scratch struggles to adapt to the higher class of life celebrity status bestows. Her personality and own moral values do not mix with the fake, corporate ideals of her agent, and her sponsors are only interested in her as long as she conforms to their expectations. Her life is barely her own and soon she will have to decide what's more important; her existing relationships, her fame and fortune, or perhaps something unexpected in the form of a refreshingly grounded Canterlot Elite who just invited her to breakfast during the Canterlot Music Convention.

A Vinyl Scratch x Octavia story where the two Ponies involved don't instantly form a romantic relationship the moment they meet, and instead allows it to grow over time with good old character development.

I, The Great and Powerful Trixie, have been reduced to performing magic tricks in a Trottingham tavern. One would think I'd never sink this low, but it's not as bad as it could be. The food is good, the beds are soft, and the company plentiful. The only problem?  I'm stuck here until I earn enough bits to buy another caravan so I can get back on the road where I belong.

So imagine my delight when one evening, a conpony walks through the door and starts cheating at cards. It was a golden opportunity: a chance to line my purse, play the heroine, and teach an amateur magician a thing or two about misdirection.

I had a perfect plan. My only mistake was getting a friend involved.
