In an attempt to end the constant war between the Cutie Mark Crusaders and their biggest enemies, Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon, or at the very least tone it down a bit, Cheerilee decides to put the five of them together in the same group for the upcoming camping trip. Glass Pane is a burgundy unicorn who hates his life in Fillydelphia. So when he's fired from his job, he decides to move out of his dark town. He moves to the next town over which happens to be Ponyville. With Lyra acting as kind of a spy to make sure he isn't a menace to the town. He falls in love with Bonbon, but (at least at first) It is unrequited. He also has to adjust to the new, colorful lifestyle that the ponies in Ponyville live.

Diamond Tiara has been bullying the cutie mark crusaders for a while now for them not having their cutie marks yet. Eventually though, Silver Spoon finds a secret about Diamond Tiara and refuses to be her friend, leaving the filly all on her own.
