On a dark night filled with even darker magics, an insane cult attempts to give Nightmare Moon a body and life of her own, utterly separate from Princess Luna. But, when the spell is interrupted by Celestia, something unexpected is created.

Now, a little black alicorn filly named Nyx finds herself living under the care of Twilight Sparkle, only to be haunted by memories and emotions from her past. Is she Nightmare Moon reborn or is she simply a doppelganger with a soul and mind of her own? Can Twilight Sparkle protect Nyx from those who refuse to see past her dragon eyes and black coat?

Or, will Nyx be forced to inherit the sins that may not even be hers and become the greatest evil Equestria has ever known?

Canterlot... For centuries, Canterlot was the shining gem of Equestria, the pinnacle of pony society. Now, it’s a reminder, a bleak and monolithic warning to the world. 

Changed by the chemical and technological poisons that plague the mountain, an abomination of nature, I wander the greatest disaster Equestria has ever seen. 

... I will escape eventually, and when I do, I hope my friends still see me as Twilight Sparkle, and not the monster that hides among the ruins. 

Twilight Sparkle knows better than anypony that an exam is serious business, particularly when the exam in question a final exam. Particularly-er when that final exam determines whether she graduates from the Canterlot School For Gifted Unicorns. But exams aren't always fun. Or normal. Or non-homicidal.

Somewhere in Ponyville, long ago, a now defunct candy factory was built, through generations it had passed, but not only did it carry on the candymaking skills, but a curse, too.

It was common, that back in the days of Lore, a mare or stallion’s eyes were to be removed, for that is where the curse was kept. Legends tell that the curse would take place in the form of a pony’s eyes, and at a very early age, fillies and colts had to be taken through various tests, and few survived.

Though this is not the case anymore, elder ponies would often tell these stories to their grandchildren, usually at Nightmare Night.

The long line of candymakers have since died out, but young ponies would still enter the factory, hoping to find something valuable, and trade it for bits.

The closest Ponyville can get to being a candymaker are the owners of Sugarcube Corner, namely, Mr. and Mrs. Cake, and Pinkie Pie, there are indeed rumors of their ancestors being the candymakers, but they, especially Pinkie, have never said anything about the rumor.

On the day of the Royal Canterlot Wedding, Trixie finds that Cadence wasn't the only one with a 'Dark Secret'. Now she struggles to survive in an Equestria whipped into a Changeling witch hunt, all while struggling with the revelation that her whole life up until this point has been a lie.

Twahlaht Sporkle is tired of exams, tired of being different, tired of her seemingly go-nowhere life as the pupil of the ruler of Equestria. One day, as she hides in the woods from another wretched exam, she discovers a mysterious portal. With hardly another thought, she leaps through-- only to find herself... in Equestria? Has her adventure ended before it even properly began?

Follow along with Twah as she discovers just how different the same old boring place can be with just a few "minor" changes!

Princess Luna, Trixie, a host of background ponies and an unlucky Braeburn come together on a roller coaster of a journey that will take them across Equestria and maybe in the process find friendship.

Luna creates her own elements of harmony in a misguided bid to make friends, but her choice of Trixie as her version of twilight leads to problems since she has no friends either, prompting Luna to send her on an adventure to find the other 'elements' but its not long before Trixie and her companions find themselves on the wrong side of the law and on the run.

Can they get over their differences and come together in the name of friendship or will the attempt be the end of harmony in Equestria?
