Laid low by circumstances beyond control, trapped in a cruel and unrelenting prison of flesh made stone, can anypony hold out hope to see the day once more? When their life rests in the hooves of one whom they tried to humiliate and belittle, can they trust in them and make it right? When they can only see through the eyes of another pony, when only one other can hear them, can they stay sane? When the only chance for their freedom is a fool's hope made incarnate, the impossible made improbable, can they beat the odds?  Trixie is going to find out.

Pride can lay one low. Stubbornness can leave somepony friendless.  Anger and Sorrow can turn others away.  And yet, they can give strength. And Hope, in the darkest hours.

If you're afraid of Dark tones, or find them distasteful, or can get stabbed easily in the feels, I suggest reading on only with caution. This is not a happy tale.

Even though MLP:FiM ended a few years ago, my friends and I still loved the show. Stories, merch, fan art, I loved it all. Things started to get a weird though when I found myself with a cutie mark appearing on my leg. Humans aren't supposed to get cutie marks, so where the heck did this come from? And what's going on with my hair?

This was meant to be a short little quirky story, but as I soon found myself engrossed in writing a bigger and bigger story.  It was originally just written for the 'Pony transformation general' community on /mlp/. However, due to the positive feedback from friends, I then decided to post the story here on FimFiction so others could enjoy it.

It should also be noted that the story here has been slightly modified version from the original. The story you see here has been fully reedited and 'cleaned up' to fit the standards of a "Teen" rating here on FimFic. If you wish to up the ante and read the mature version of the story, you may do so on the Google Doc here. Feel free to switch between either story version whenever you like, as the main story line between the two versions is identical.

Ponyville is a place filled with mysteries... according to Pinkie Pie, at least. While many merely see what's in front of them, Pinkie has it all figured out. She is a self-proclaimed master of observation, after all.

Twilight, however, disagrees.

Vinyl Scratch is not a vampire, she would say, she is just a pony with strange red eyes. And Octavia, on the other hoof, isn't a 'Land' Siren either, hypnotizing stallions to do her bidding with her music. She's simply a master of both the cello and the male heart. What of Time Turner, one may ask? Not a Time Lord, she would say, he's only lord of Ponyville's clocks. And by way, Derpy Hooves is most certainly not his secret assistant playing dumb.

What about Lyra Hearstrings and all her odd behavior, though?! Certainly that must mean something!

Twilight would roll her eyes. A former 'Hamen' from another dimension? Really?! How would that even make sense? Scootaloo? Don't even bring her up. She's not a star child/spirit/changeling/[insert insane theory here], she's just a poor orphan filly down her luck. And don't get her started on on Captain 'Jack' Harness. He isn't immortal, nor does he lead a secret organization called Horsehood. He's a retired guardsman. His name isn't even 'Jack', it's Black!

There's more, but the jist has been gotten, save for one last thing:

For most certainly, and this is with beyond a doubt: none of these ponies, when the clock strikes one on a foggy night, are secretly meeting at the run-down Stallion Stanley Hotel to conspire against Ponyville.

At the assault on Canterlot, she was a medic, but not for the Equestrians.

After the assault is concluded, a new struggle for the Changelings begins as those who survive must still find food and shelter.

Will the Equestrians simply forgive the Changelings for their assault on their capitol, and if so how bumpy a road is this going to become?

There's no place like Donut Joe's diner to unwind after a long, hard day. Good company, great coffee, and the best dang cucumber omelette in Equestria. After the week Celestia's had, she could really, really use a place to get away from it all.

Here, the regulars all know her as Sunny Skies, the unassuming workaholic mare who hasn't taken a day off in... ever. Well, today's her lucky day. Sunny's about to have one alarmingly, catastrophically long holiday.

Luna's become delirious with a fever, Discord's fled the castle in terror, there's a moon in Celestia's dining room, and ponies with sugar-rich diets all over Canterlot starting to behave... very strangely.

Put on a pot of coffee, folks. We've got an all-nighter on our hooves.

I don’t know how, but Pinkie managed to escape from the Canterlot Prison for the Mentally Unbalanced, adding insult to injury to a nation which has already been shaken by her murders. Sugarcube Corner has been abandoned ever since her spree, but now something is stirring in there again.

I can’t help but shudder as Mully tells me to check on the disturbance. A part of me hopes that this will be just another case of a desperate teenager first dealing with misconduct. The other part dreads what I might find amidst the decrepit walls of  what Pinkie once turned into a slaughterhouse.

Princess Twilight is finding herself with more and more political power than both Luna and Celestia. Not wanting to upset the balance of power, Twilight brings her concerns to the other princesses. Unfortunately, the royal sisters won't be of much help; after all, change comes slowly to the immortal. However, for a certain spirit, change is an everyday occurance. Now Discord has become Princess Twilight's advisor, and they are driving each other crazy.

However, hate can morph into love—but they'll still be driving each other crazy.
