[DOTA 2 Crossover]

Takes place at the very beginning of Season 3

When the towering herald of coming undeath, Undying, shambled into battle so that the world of the Nemesis Stones may succumb to the Almighty Dirge, his death-riddled mind was set on the end of all life. His hatred for the living and devotion towards The Dead God pushed him forward, turning him into an unstoppable force of slaughter.

Nothing could stop his quest, in their minds, nothing could stand in the way of such evil.

Couldn't have been done without the help of my friend, JLB. He co-wrote this story, so please do check out his stuff if you're a fan of Dark/ Psychological stories.

Being the sensible farmpony that she is, Applejack knows that spiders are nothing to be afraid of. Fluttershy herself would tell her that. But that still didn't stop her from harboring a deep-seeded fear of those eight-legged critters. And when Fluttershy's spiders escape their homes, Applejack starts seeing them everywhere.

She promptly freaks out and runs away.

This story is non-canon, and is not to be taken too seriously!

This story is based on a non-canon, "what-if" moment, involving Jed from my story, "When Opposites Attract".

What would've happened if, instead of sending Twilight to Equestria High to get her crown back, they sent Jed in, instead?

Knowing that the safety of their recently-crowned princess, Twilight Sparkle, would be risked if she were to follow Sunset Shimmer into the mirror to get her crown back, Princess Celestia had an idea... send one of their least tolerated subjects to retrieve it... and possibly catch a break from the terror that his very presence brought to her little ponies.

(She only prays that the inhabitants of the other world would forgive her someday...)

"DARK" tag is there for foul language and death threats. If you don't like cursing, then this story may not be for you.

Also, when I say "non-canon", I'm referring to the "When Opposites Attract" main storyline! (Thank you, Iron Sky, for pointing that out! )

I'll never forget that day. The day I forever changed a friend of mine. Fluttershy.....I'll be willing to share with you the odd things I've noticed about her since the incident at Sweet Apple Acres. I never really told any pony that I couldn't get over the mistake I made. How could I let this happen?! I've led this innocent pony to be devoured within animalistic insanity......I have a gnawing feeling that my spell did much more then I had anticipated.

I've corrupt her with a hunger that would never be satisfied. And a darkness that would never escape her.......

When Fluttershy was scared to tears by the dreaded "Phantom Pony" of Everfree Forest, she thought he was a monster, just like everypony said he was.  But is it really true?  I mean, no "Phantom Pony" would do something nice for anypony or anything, right?  And he has been shown to perform an act of kindness.

Is Nocturne really evil?  Or just a lonely pony who needs a friend?

Fluttershy isn't sure, but she can't turn away now.  She's the Element of Kindness, after all.  And one way or another, she's sure that all Nocturne needs is a little kindness to open up his heart.

This story is a sort of mid-quel to "The Gentle Dark", taking place after Nocturne and Fluttershy first meet, but before Nocturne comes out of the forest for the first time.  At the request of some readers, it chronicles a week-long stretch in which Fluttershy makes repeated attempts to befriend Nocturne; therefore, it runs as it's own separate story.
