Five years ago...

Three of Equestria's greatest enemies formed an alliance and conquered it. They combined their magic to alter the senses and memories of the princesses and the lands inhabitants into believing they are royalty and their army come to join them. Before they could act, Princess Luna sent an ancient artifact to a friend of the main 6 to train for the coming battle.

Five years later...

Echo Wave has trained himself to defeat the monsters, their creators and free his home from their evil. Even if his friends and his land view him as evil and try to stop him, he will continue his mission. He shall be the hero that strikes from the shadows. He shall be known as Kamen Rider Shade.

Octavia Philharmonica would like nothing more than to practice her cello and to compose beautiful music all by herself. Unfortunately, her teacher Princess Cadance has other plans! Sent to Ponyville to assist with logistics for the Vernal Equinox Festival, Octavia wants only to get through the ceremony with as little interaction with the local populace as possible, but her plans are derailed by the return of two ancient evils. When the ancient tyrants Burning Sun and Nightmare Moon break free from their prisons and initiate a new era of war and devastation, Octavia finds herself and five other musicians -- Vinyl Scratch, Fluttershy, Lyra Heartstrings, Bluenote, and Medley -- caught up in a desperate race to find the Elements of Harmony and stop the alicorns. It will be a difficult journey, but it just might be possible, if Octavia can manage to befriend the other ponies... and if she can learn to truly listen to the music of Ponyville.

Why? He's a soldier and it was obvious he'd one day have to leave. But the way he left, so abruptly, even callously... it just doesn't seem right. Could it be that there's something more to his departure than meets the eye? Or are thoughts like that merely fancy and wishful thinking? To find the truth, Rarity and the girls start down a long, winding road that will hopefully bring the grey eyed soldier back. Hopefully.
