There is a problem of fics being listed here that don't actually have anything to do with transformation. This thread is for pointing out such fics and discussing what does and doesn't belong here. I'll start with listing a few general examples:
R63 alternate universe stories: Some of these might qualify, but not by simply being this. This group is about transformations not cross-universe travel or alternate dimensions. Please make sure they involve some form of transformation before listing them here.
If there are any examples I missed, you need to mention specific examples, or are uncertain what qualifies, that is why I made this thread. Feel free to discuss and hopefully start fixing this problem.

New to fimfiction, thought I'd make a note about allowing body swap. If that refers to Human into Pony w/o description of the TF, I'd like to advocate it to be allowed here. Here's why. HiE fiction on this site seems to be notoriously anti-TF and I don't know of a better place for "I was a human, now I'm a pony in Equestria" fiction.

I'm on that group, the ones that hate on pony TF tales are the more outspoken and are probably the source of the 3 thumbs down my tale has gotten. On the other hoof, i've gotten way more thumbs up with that as the main group I had been on for months, so there dont seem to be as many Grinches there as I first thought.

Due to the sheer number of them and how prone to starting flame wars they can be, it definitely deserves caution. If it becomes a problem where we're overflowing with them in the future, we may have to give them their own folder so as to keep them from overshadowing the other non-TCB transformation stories. What you said is probably a good way to sum it up for now though.

Each and every one of these qualifies (and many are already listed in this group.). That said, we either need to give it its own folder or just tell people not to go about adding each and every one of them. They aren't as much of a problem as TCB stories but worthy of mention.

Generally, I'm going to accept that the person posting it is genuine in their intentions. If it comes to be a problem, we can look into another solution. If a specific fic is a problem, let an admin know~.

Oh, while I'm here, I'm going to make an unspoken policy decision crystal clear, as I know it can be a problem in transformation-related groups:

No Rape Fics
Clarification: This means that the rape occurs either 'on screen' at all or occurs 'off screen' in a manner determined to be unfit, which is a judgement call. Nonconsensual sex being a thing that happens to exist, is part of distant backgrounds, or other distant forms are (dubiously) fine - the short version is that if it's not a significant part of the going's on of the story, it's not significant enough to qualify, but be tasteful people. If it gets drawn to our attention, we'll take a look and make a judgement call. Also, no pedophilia, which is target-specific rape.

Clop fics are fine. While I may personally not like clop, I also don't like brony fics, and yet both are permitted.

If a fic that involves this explicitly banned content already exists or has been added, please PM myself or another admin and let us know. Make sure that it is actually in a folder still before you PM us, I won't be pleased to see PMs of things I took care of days or weeks ago. Give us a short summary saying what the content is and why it is objectionable - don't paste massive walls of text or even the relevant passage, since the last thing I want is a pony porn hotline on my FIMFiction account.

Much as I don't like these kind of fics, they are our bailiwick, and they do fit the strict definition, so we probably ought to include them.

Volaren is an earth pony and basically the soul of a demigod given flesh and put to sleep. his sword which eats souls and than gives him the energy has eaten both a demon lord and a minor deity. both of those forms are going to come out. and while its vague at the beginning he does start out as a "human" i say this tentatively because he has ascended into a demigod/demon.

Okay, are fics that don't focus on the transformation allowed? Because I have a fic called The Path of Absolution - Punishment. In it The CMC are petrified for a few chapters (They got better) Sweetie Belle's horn and Scootaloo's wings are turned to ice, and Diamond Tiara becomes an alicorn, (also with wings and a horn of ice) Both cases are temporarily and I don't think the fic focuses on the latter transformation as anything but side effects.

Hello everyone! I would like to submit my fanfic Metamorphosis to this group, but I'm unsure of where to put it or how to properly categorize it. The story is a crossover between MLP:FIM and the anime/manga series Bio-Booster Armor Guyver, and as such primarily involves the involuntary/accidental transformation of the main character into a techno-organic armored warrior who can change back and forth at will (making all latter transformations voluntary ). It also involves changelings (as the primary antagonists), and changelings tranforming into monstrous alternative forms outside the scope of the typical changeling transformation. I also intend to use change and transformation as themes throughout the story (hence the title). If there were "Other" or "Combined/Multiple" categories, I guess those would be appropriate, but since neither of those are options does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks for your help!

In my story 'My Little Icarus: Chaotic Siblings' I have three moments where I have a transformation. The transformations last for about maybe a few paragraphs and one change that actually does last for almost an entire chapter, but we don't really focus on it much.

Would this count as being allowed? If so, where should I put it? It has characters turning into monsters, petrification (if you account Discord's status), elements, and... um... walking human-sized vegetables.

As stated earlier, so long as a transformation occurs, it's allowed unless it violates Posting guideline c) (See the group front page). Since I doubt it does, just be sure to place it in the appropriate catagories.

Well, actually is just the concept itself but not entirely the same.
Applebloom is transformed into a changeling-pony hybrid.
Sweetie Belle is completely transformed into a robot.
Scootaloo is changed into energy that shock everything she touches.
And the three are aged to 20-21 years old.

I got a fic that curtains a small group of Kaiju being hurled into the pony universe and transformed. I have no plans of (and outright hate) pedophilia and rape fics so mine will never be one of those. It DOES revolve around such transformation, but I wanted to be sure that

1. It was allowed if the transformation wasn't a pony originally or a Human-to-pony shift
2. Was allowed for outside fictional characters

as I didn't want to be rude and possibly break a rule. If it is allowed, what category would I put it in?
