Do you like Alternate Universes? I like Alternate Universes. Especially the ones that take the story back to the very beginning and retell it from a new, (semi-)fresh perspective.

This group highlights what I call "Alternate Mane 6" fics. Whether it's six new ponies, the same six under different circumstances, or any combination thereof, you can find those stories here. The purpose is to introduce readers to a multiverse of possibilities all answering the same basic question: "What if the ponies who bear the Elements of Harmony were...?"

Just one rule about what goes in here: the stories must tell the origin of their particular setup (e.g. this or that Mane 6 goes to find the Elements of Harmony to defeat Nightmare Moon [or another, similar evil force]). Sequels and stories with the same character setup (if they even exist) will not be featured. This is because they are either written by the same author (so they'll be on said author's userpage anyway) or already part of another group focused on that particular universe (meaning adding those stories here would be redundant).

Anyway, pick a story and enjoy.
